I agree, it wouldn’t be a great signing at all but I’d have barnes up front over hountonji

Re: Ashley Barnes
Aye, but I’d probs have him 3rd choice of Jay Rod
Re: Ashley Barnes
I seem to remember him scoring 12 prem league goals in a season, prem strikers would take that, particularly in a team that are not wasting chances for fun.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 5:36 pmFor half a season he was very good, but after that he went down hill and although some will say he wasn't given much of a chance in the PL, I never thought he was up to that standard.
Re: Ashley Barnes
He would galvanise the dressing room

Re: Ashley Barnes
He's just what we need currently.
We need the ball to stick up top , none of our strikers have the physicality and nouse to make this happen.
Barnes is the best at this bar none.

Norwich fan on the Pink Un website saying that there is a removal van outside his house loading up boxes. Doesn’t mean he’s coming here like, but clearly he’s got fixed up somewhere.

Re: Ashley Barnes
I adore Bashley, but I assume this’ll be a 6 month deal and taking up a coaching role at the end of the season, surely?
Re: Ashley Barnes
Absolutely fabulous news! This is just what the club, players and fans need!
Re: Ashley Barnes
I mean, good for the dressing room I suppose.
Re: Ashley Barnes
A good character to have for sure, but I cannot see him offering much on the pitch. Would be fitting to win another promotion with us before he calls it a day.

Sadly not what we need. Going to be a lot of disappointed fans over the next few weeks.
Re: Ashley Barnes
I can’t see him bringing many goals or solving the striker issue but he will galvanise a bored fanbase and make the dressing room realise what Saturday means to everyone.
May also mean we are skint.

Re: Ashley Barnes
Become apparent after he left what a key figure he was in the dressing room. Almost worth it for that alone given how young the squad is.

Allows Hontondji out on loan and he can be a useful impact sub when needed. Think the dressing room is fine but he will only add to it.

I’m playing devils advocate but I actually think of all our strikers he suits this system best.

Proved under Kompany could play more of a link role. Won't score many goals but have others have said may galvanise the side and id fancy him to do the job being asked of our strikers better than any other of them we have on the books.
And he hates bastards.

Re: Ashley Barnes
He was lucky enough to have the perfect ending last time, going out winning the league. Smacks of a bit of desperation to me.
Re: Ashley Barnes
Who do you reckon, if they play all games remaining scores more goals… Barnes, Rodriguez or Foster??
He’ll be a massive boost to everyone around the club!
