Barnes has IMO always a very much underrated footballer and I mean footballer ie playing the ball with his feet, holding play up, laying the ball off and ball control. He is not just a bully with defences (but it adds to his performances). Wish he had just signed for us aged 25 and not 35

I've just been going through the ratings and seen someone give Barnes a 5 and describe his performance as dreadful. For me, that performance from Barnes was getting close to his performances at Bournemouth (FA Cup) and Norwich two years ago. I thought he was exactly what we want him to be.
He had the front line very organized & pressing together.....he was like a conductor.
He made us a lot more effective & proved his detractors dead-wrong.....again.

Good footballer!

Will be a tough choice for Parker. Personally I'd go with Barnes over Flemming, I don't think there'd be a huge difference in goal threat but Barnes offers much more to the team.

Agreed, back to the pressing of 2 years ago with zaroury and Tella.
