It is on BA , yes , though American lines can be grind to “ keep it flowing “ in my experience.
Many years ago (1986) we flew Miami to Heathrow return with BA. I say we, meaning about 30 military personally going to UK for a 2 week R&R. The BA Staff seeing all these fit and tanned lads in cattle class made sure we were treated like Kings and crates were 'found' from other Classes along with limitless snacks.

Proper Airline, proper staff.

Here’s a good link with the answers you seek, but in summary, it’s Physics and economics

Thanks for that. Yes it’s cleared it up nicely for me. Nice video of the sonic boom also.

For the last 10 years, we've flown Easy-jet from either Manchester ( awful ) or Liverpool ( great ), to Bordeaux ( ok ) or Bergerac Perigord ( brilliant ). The last two times we've landed at Bergerac, we were driving out of the Hire Car parking lot within half an hour of landing ...

The other experiences have been Jet2 from Manchester to Lesvos, with no issues ..

Not sure what this means but I use Jet2, TUI and Ryanair for holiday or city break destinations and the service, customer or otherwise, tends to be spot on.
Depends what level of service you're demanding I guess.
I mean all the stuff you got as part of the airfare that is now “extra”. Perhaps “customer service” wasn’t the right phrase. You’re right to say that the staff tend to be fine.
