It will be interesting to see how Blades are faring now. They've got a few injuries. I've seen them twice, once against us and against Luton last week. Both times they looked really average.

I can see them taking a draw. Keeps them top and it’s another poly on the board. I don’t see how it’s in Leeds’ interests to lose though.

Battle of Bramhall Lane II would be great. As long as Leeds get something, I’ll be quite satisfied.

A draw is fine, 2 points or 3, doesn't matter with out superior goal difference.

To be honest I didn't think we had a chance this season, so I'm coming from a viewpoint that anything is possible.

It doesn't matter, we just stick to our job and achieve 92 points and we go up.
If we do that, in real terms, Sheffield Utd have to accrue 95 with their two point deduction and our superior goal difference.

Much as it goes against the grain, I’ll be cheering a win for DL. That result would put promotion into our own hands as FCB says above. We haven’t been able to say that in a long time.

Leeds win, winning the league is a bonus but promotion is a must.If QPR do is a favour next Saturday we can go second if we win at Cardiff,and we have Luton next.So Mr Parker, please please remember it's a win these games first,build up the goal difference second,and thirdly and this is the least important, protect the clean sheet record

Definitely a Leeds win for me, they're the best team in the division and showing no signs of faltering. Let them go and lets fight Sheff Utd for second place. We have a far superior goal difference, when the tallyman comes, that's worth an extra point.

After the QPR game on Saturday, Sheffield United are capable of winning all but one of their remaining games. We're going to have to step it up,we can't afford anymore 0-0's

Just had a $50 on us winning the league at 18/1. That’s long odds for a team unbeaten in 21 and only a few points behind with 13 games to play.

Re: So, a Leeds win or a Draw on Monday?
I was just looking at my bookie's odds on tonight's game.
Sheff U are 31/10 to win (Leeds 9/10, draw 13/5). Given Sheff U are 2nd in the league and the home team their win odds surprised me.
Leeds have been in great form lately but Blades have hardly been poor (and would be on the same points as DL without the 2 point deduction).
There must be a lot of confident West Yorkies putting their bets on.
I fancy a draw but not enough to put a bet on.

Re: So, a Leeds win or a Draw on Monday?
We have a tough run of games coming up, and we'll do well to make the automatic spots. However, we have that extra bit of quality with Edwards now, plus other coming back from injury. If we can continue to keep it tight at the back we could well go on a run of wins. A Leeds win tonight opens the door slightly. Fingers crossed they don't let us down!

You've got to remember the bookies odds are influenced by where the money is being placed and with Leeds having such a massive fanbase you will often find them lower priced than looks sensible.LeadBelly wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 11:53 amI was just looking at my bookie's odds on tonight's game.

Not really how it works with odds for specific games. Bookies will alter their odds on certain markets (next manager, transfers etc) if there's a lot of money going in one direction, but not so much for a fixture. If everyone of us on here put a bet on the exact same outcome tonight, you'd hardly see the odds change at allDevils_Advocate wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 12:30 pmYou've got to remember the bookies odds are influenced by where the money is being placed and with Leeds having such a massive fanbase you will often find them lower priced than looks sensible.

Re: So, a Leeds win or a Draw on Monday?
It’s a win/win tonight for us. Leeds win and Sheff Utd are in relatively easy reach. Draw means we’ve gained on both from the weekend. Sheff Utd win (which seems least popular on here) and Leeds are pegged back and Sheff Utd are no further away. Oddly I think a SU win is good because if we get a Leeds win they will be almost uncatchable (almost) and then we will be in an 'all eggs in one basket' situation with SU. I think id rather keep them both within reach in case either falter. If Leeds win they will be able to afford a stumble but not if they lose.

Re: So, a Leeds win or a Draw on Monday?
So many different ways of looking at this with a positive mind. If Leeds win they will take some catching but it will dent Sheffield's confidence, and out of Scotty, Farke and Wilder I think the latter appears to be the least capable of rallying and motivating his team. I would like to see them spanked tonight and Leeds are quite capable of doing it and scoring 3 or 4. That would work well will our goal difference too

Re: So, a Leeds win or a Draw on Monday?
From what I've heard, SU have been pretty fortunate as of late, and a loss or 2 in the next few games after tonight wouldn't be entirely unexpected
However on the flip side, they seem to also keep getting results despite not playing well
All in all, we've not been far off them over the last 10 games, despite all the 0-0s (6 in our last 11 games). We can afford the odd draw, but we certainly need to convert some of those into wins, unless their form drops off. Which it might, but we can't rely on it. I suspect we need 26-28 points from our last 12 games (depends what our result against them is). That's essentially 7-8 wins and no losses. Basically, match our form from the last 12 games, but convert 1 or 2 of the 0-0s into wins. Its not a huge leap....
Re: So, a Leeds win or a Draw on Monday?
Unfortunately I have to go for a Leeds win, ( I never thought I’d say that in my lifetime) only because it stops Sheffield Utd getting any points.

Leeds win is best outcome.
Blades lose 3 points and another 3 points at the Turf next month.
Leeds can have the title so long as we get 2nd auto promotion spot.
You know it makes sense,!

A draw for me is best. We still keep control over Sheff Utd and it gives us an outside chance of catching DL.

Re: So, a Leeds win or a Draw on Monday?
Bumping this old thread with the benefit of hindsight.
At the time if Leeds won we'd be 2 points behind 2nd, if Sheff Utd won we'd be 4 points behind 2nd and if it was a draw we'd have been 3 points behind 2nd.
Since then we've picked up 16 points from a possible 18, and Leeds only 7, both of which are remarkable for different reasons.
If Leeds won, which they did, the league table looks exactly as it does now;
Burnley 84
Sheff Utd 83
Leeds 82
If Sheff Utd won;
Sheff Utd 86
Burnley 84
Leeds 79
If the match was drawn;
Burnley 84
Sheff Utd 84
Leeds 80
So in terms of promotion, a Sheffield United win actually would have been the best outcome, giving us a 5 point cushion over Leeds with 6 to play, but in terms of winning the league a Leeds win was best, and yet at the time a draw was the most favourable result.
Anyhoo, on current 6 game form, Leeds (89pts) are more in danger of finishing closer to Sunderland (88) than either us (100) or Sheffield United (96).

It’s because the bookies are pricing in that because we play Sheff Utd on Easter Monday one of us is guaranteed to drop points.
What they don’t seem to be pricing in is that “Leeds are falling apart……again”
