Dark, sinister and confusing but brilliantly funny in parts.

High Fidelity by Nick Hornby is pretty funny but I'm not sure it's a novel - more part of his own autobiography with music instead of football.

Seen Spike Milligan mentioned a few times - I used to avidly read his books but most of them are poems and observations rather than novels. His WW2 memoirs are dead funny but are still basically autobiography with his lunatic humour thrown in.

However, unless I'm mistaken no-one has mentioned Puckoon yet! This is Milligan's first and only novel set in a border town in Ireland that gets split in half when Ireland is partitioned.
Absolutely hilarious - jokes on every page. Think of a Milligan sketch on TV extended over a full book

I believe he had a lot of difficulty coming up with an ending - in the preface he admits that 'this book nearly drove me mad' - given his well documented mental health issues it's probably understandable that he never attempted to write another 'proper' novel
