Remarkable that only Root was remotely interested in appealing for caught behind.

Going to the cricket tomorrow and hoping the weather will stay fine and we get to see a full day of England batting (fingers crossed emoji)

Can’t speak for the England batsmen but the weather looks as though it will be ok.

I always prefer to watch England bowl live (as long as we're taking wickets, of course). It always creates s better atmosphere.

Ideal situation tomorrow (for live viewing) is that we bat until about tea, have a lead of about 150, or more, they way they're going, then knock 4 or 5 of them over in the last session.

What an opening partnership that was.

After watching the ball wobble about this morning, i expected a 60-4 score for us tonight.

Another brilliant partnership from these 2. Their average as a pair is higher than cook and Strauss, and the left / right, tall / short combo, along with their aggression is an asset to this team.

They also keep the scorer busy......very entertaining to watch.

Yep - and he immediately straightened himself out when he realised we hadn’t claimed the wicket.

Hopefully a decent day at the crease for us today… ain’t been to OT for years.

And he has now become the third highest run scorer in test cricket.

88 behind Ponting
2,631 behind Tendulkar

What's the tactic then? Bat for as long as possible and try and win by an innings + or put them in tonight and try and scuttle a few?

Taking ones & twos is really grinding the Indians down.
Great running between the wickets.
It's brilliant seeing us play good Test cricket against a really good side!

Bat bat and bat a little bit more. The position we’re in we should only be batting once here.

No idea why Washington hasn’t bowled more than he has in this innings. Took us apart in the last test and has looked threatening here, taking two big wickets. England should still be aiming for 500+.

Just one over with new ball for Bumrah, not swapping ends either. Speeds were around 80 mph too. Maybe out of sorts or carrying an injury
Joe getting nervy as he approaches ton. Hope he gets it for his and the team's sake.
