Some batting collapse this! Some of our batters are brainless baboons at times!

1 wicket to go with 46.4 overs gone, someone gonna tell this lot it’s not an ODI?

My only surprise is he’s even worse than I thought he was going to be in this test.
Re: Overton
Sort of feel sorry for him
He’s bowled less than 20 overs in red ball cricket all summer
He has taken 2 wickets for 110, and has had just 2 innings averaging 9.
It’s therefore beyond belief that the selectors should even have considered picking him for a series deciding test.(Even at his very best he wouldn’t be many people’s pick as a Test bowler).
His lack of performance is hardly surprising.

3 dropped catches so far. Some poor fielding letting India off the hook.

Several dropped catches by England players this series claiming they lost the ball in the bright sun or floodlights when boundary fielding.
Presumably the expensive sunglasses perched on the top of caps are just a fashion statement and serve no practical purpose?

How Crawley keeps being selected is a mystery to me, he gets a decent score once every blue moon and is a liability at third slip, already dropped two regulation catches this innings.

All the drop catches this innings are an embarrassment.

At least we’re rescuing test cricket. This bowling attack and the fielding is pathetic once again.

They won’t be facing the Aussies with this bowling attack though…hopefully anyway

India probably cruising towards victory with Pope’s reluctance to use spin and running the seamers into the ground.

Target is already past the highest successful Test run chase at the Oval and still 4 more wickets to get.

You would be forgiven for thinking it was local village side fielding for England in this innings. Truly abysmal.

263 the highest Test match run chase at the Oval. 374 to win, they’ll be on the golf course by 4 tomorrow.

I think this type of stat can be misleading. Last year Sri Lanka were 214/2 in the fourth innings. Who's to say they wouldn't have got 350 plus? But that last wicket stand AND six dropped catches could be the difference.

We've got to somehow find a better more consistent opening batsman than Crawley. I'm done watching him waft crazily outside his off stump

Stolen from X re Pope:

‘An archetypal Pope series: 306 runs at 34, a tick below his career average, with one hundred. Incredibly, his 27 today was his second-highest score in the fourth innings of a Test‘

Poor that - I was thinking to myself, what does Pope add to the team? Not good enough from a #3.

He’s been crap for years. I think they are maybe using him to fill a gap whilst bethell gets used to test cricket. Then he will be moved on

Personally this Engkand team are amazing. The difference before mcullem took over and since whilst playing the most positive cricket seen in test cricket is quite amazing. Sure some times it doesn’t work but my god they should be proud of the fearless selfless nature that’s been instilled. I think ramprakash and hick would have loved this attitude. Win or lose ( more often winning )I’m behind the whole set up. It’s fantastic
