Never really played the same role in the Prem though tbf.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 12:12 pmWhat really surprised me is that over 50% of his goals for Burnley came last season. Premier League record is 6 goals in 111 games which highlights the difference between a Championship Brownhill and a Premier League Brownhill.

He played there under Kompany in the Champ and again in the Prem (albeit obviously not attacking ‘as’ much, but still chipped in with some goals). I’d say the main switch last season was him playing half the games as a second striker / shadow striker in Parker’s 4-4-2 / 4-2-4 that we deployed (when it wasn’t the system you infer). The heatmaps typically had him further forward than Flemming in these games, typically bursting into space when the former dropped to link.

He played as a 10 or left of a more traditional 2 with Cullen under Kompany from what I saw. I don't remember him ever going with a 3 man midfield, it was always a 2 with 1 infrontRVclaret wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 2:58 pmHe played there under Kompany in the Champ and again in the Prem (albeit obviously not attacking ‘as’ much, but still chipped in with some goals). Good Luck Josh at 29 a two year contract that will secure his family’s future why would he turn that opportunity down and at 31 still would ne a decent championship player on return. I have no problem with a player who gave us good service making a what is a sensible family decision the quality of football doesn’t matter just take the money and smile. UTC

"The way the manager plays - the formation, the system and the vision they see - that’s what really attracted me,” Brownhill said. “The atmosphere has been amazing since I’ve been here - members of staff, the kitman, everyone, the fans as well. It’s been really great."
Phew...and here's me thinking it was all about the money. My apologies Josh. Good luck with your ambitious new challenging venture.

If his family's future isn't secure already after earning about £10 million net over 10 years, then I don't know what to say. Not really sure why some of our fans are treating him as though he's been on a minimum wage for 5 years and suddenly hit the jackpot. Nothing against him at all, but it has made me respect him a little bit less than I did before.Tackler49 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 9:44 pmGood Luck Josh at 29 a two year contract that will secure his family’s future why would he turn that opportunity down and at 31 still would ne a decent championship player on return.
