Give first team two days off, play reserve team (cup team) against City on Wednesday, first team ready for BHA on Saturday.

Three draws against Liverpool, Villa and Chelsea would have made people really happy and would have given us 3 points. We won 6 points !!

I always say that when you play teams makes a difference. We played Liverpool at a good time, Chelsea at a bad time. Had Lampard been in charge we wouldn’t have lost like we did today. Alonso wouldn’t have played, that’s for sure.

Josh Brownhill has been putting a tremendous amount of work in, particularly defensively. Missed today.Vino blanco wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 3:32 pmGlen Hoddle said at half time:"Chelsea have so much time and space in midfield it's too easy for them, the Burnley midfield need to do something about it in the second half". That was certainly a factor, and it's rarely a good time to play a club who've just appointed a new manager, all the players give that extra effort to impress him, and run that little bit faster, and if they do that and match our physicality, then 9 times out of ten they'll win the game due to having superior players.

They had an extra man in there. No wonder we were chasing shadows.Vino blanco wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 3:32 pmGlen Hoddle said at half time:"Chelsea have so much time and space in midfield it's too easy for them, the Burnley midfield need to do something about it in the second half". The rigid 4-4-2 has served us well but when the top sides turn up we are short.
5-4-1 is the only way to play against City or Chelsea.
