Nothing is certain in football, agents, players and other clubs het in the way. Newcastle for example. But it’s being discussed at the moment.

Re: Summer transfer window
That would be unreal and massively boost our chances of staying up.
If true, my guesses would be Ortega, Bobb permanently, McAtee loan. Ideally with an option if we stay up.

Re: Summer transfer window
Actually if you'd look back to start the season they were both playing together, initially with Anthony on the left and Koleosho on the right, then they were swapped to put Koleosho on his favoured left-hand side and he simply didn't deliver.Mattster wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 11:05 amKoleosho is a great young player who, when returning from a long term injury, was absolutely hung out to dry by Parker's favouritism of Anthony. That we're here with so many fans slating and wanting rid of Koleosho from where we were 12 months ago just shows how terribly he has been handled and I hope he gets a proper chance with us this season because otherwise we'll lose him and watch him succeed somewhere else.
From there, we had various set ups including playing Hannibal off the left, Sarmiento and even Foster.
Once we signed Marcus Edwards, Anthony moved back permanently to the left-hand side with ME on the right and we didn't look back.
Absolutely nothing to do with being 'hung out to dry' - Anthony was fantastic for us last season and Koleosho was poor.
That doesn't mean it's over for Kolo; instead, it means he needs to continue developing and learning his trade. Currently, he isn't a player we can rely on to be a consistent performer week in and week out.

Re: Summer transfer window
If true, I would imagine the loan is Ortega, can't see a way he would come to up permanently.
You would imagine the two permanents were youth players.
However, I'd be very doubtful this gets done. Even single player to player trades rarely happen due to all the complexities involved in the deal. All players have to want to move, all player have to agree terms and pass medicals. Just can't see a 3 in, 1 out deal working.

DOZENS!....Name them .....I want at least 24 examples!bumba wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 9:04 amThere were dozens of occasions last season where he was 1 on 1 with a defender but chose to cut inside or when going on the outside ran out of play or didn't have the pace to beat his full back, were not even talking rapid full backs.
He's lost some pace there's no doubt about it.
The reason he featured less and less is because he isn't good enough, he has no end product so without the pace what can he offer us?
He'd be 5th choice winger here, he needs to play.

I like Koleosho as he is direct and pacy, but his decision making in the final third is as poor as any Burnley forward I've seen in recent years.
I appreciate he is raw, but in the Premier league, when our goalscoring chances are likely at a premium, I wouldn't want him to be the man with the ball in those situations.
Loan him out for me.

I see Sunderland are signing another French lad for a large fee and Leeds are signing a big DM from Germany.
Sorry to bang on about those two clubs again, but I do wish we had a few incomings in vital areas to talk about instead of how our first choice keeper is going to leave.

Meanwhile in Leeds and Sunderland all the talk is about Burnley signing two international FBs from last season, Tuanazebe, a highly rated young German goalkeeping prospect and a highly rated young French winger. With weeks to go in the window. All is well.ksrclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 12:26 pmI see Sunderland are signing another French lad for a large fee and Leeds are signing a big DM from Germany.

Re: Summer transfer window
If the player swap thing was/is true then I’d expect O’Reilly would likely be one of them.
McAtee would be a much larger fee and unlikely in my opinion. Likewise Oscar Bobb he’s highly rated and shown glimpses already at city.

Re: Summer transfer window
I don’t buy into the narrative that Ortega wouldn’t come here or we couldn’t afford him. He played for 1860 Munich and had 5 years or so at Arminia Bielefeld before going to City, we are a step up from that level playing in the premier league, I’d also imagine he is one of their lowest earners - 40/50k a week maybe?
Re: Summer transfer window
Yeah, Stach is someone I wanted here. 6 foot 5 defensive midfielder, underlying data for off the ball looks very strong in the Bundesliga. Both clubs have prioritised and spent big on central midfield. We currently have Cullen and Laurent as the best 2. It’s got me wondering if we need the Trafford money to spend ‘big’ ourselves?ksrclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 12:26 pmI see Sunderland are signing another French lad for a large fee and Leeds are signing a big DM from Germany.

Re: Summer transfer window
I’d rather just get £30m and Ortega. We don’t need any more wingers. Squad lacks physicality, height and nous. Mcatee and Bobb are great footballers but the squad is unbalanced as it is. Maybe take one of them on loan if it doesn’t impact on the price but we need money to spend and get what we truly lack.

Ederson linked with Galatasaray which would put and end to any chance of Ortega joining us. Strange random link why would he want to go there

So you mean like the totally unexpected Kyle Walker deal. ?
Re: Summer transfer window
I don’t think Ederson leaving will have any bearing on what happens to Ortega. Backup GK is one of the easiest and cheapest squad members to replace.
If Trafford is going there for £40m you’d expect he’s first choice.

Re: Summer transfer window
Some big moves to Turkey including managers. This is despite them not really paying big transfer fees.
Whilst not paying the transfer fee gives them leeway to pay massive wages when you see some of the players choosing to play there at the end of their contracts feels like it could be possible that they receive tax or other incentives. A lot of these deals often seem short term too with many players looking to leave Turkey after a year or two.

Yeah that sort of player is imperative and he looks ideal.RVclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 1:13 pmYeah, Stach is someone I wanted here. 6 foot 5 defensive midfielder, underlying data for off the ball looks very strong in the Bundesliga. Of course there is still time but the longer we leave it the more those players will have been snapped up. Let’s hope there’s a conclusion to the Trafford saga soon and we can focus on who’s coming in.

Combative CM's and Striker are so obviously needed as priorities
McAtee and Bobb just replace the likes of Hannibal, Anthony, Edwards - they are better than our current players but no point in adding to an already bloated squad

Re: Summer transfer window
Is kalvin Phillips injured?
He’s one player I was talking about with my lad as maybe being an option on loan, I mentioned it when Leeds agreed a deal for Longstaff, whos now signed and then today agreed a fee for the centre mid from Germany. Can’t see Sunderland going in for Philips so maybe we are an option to him. Could imagine him being a midfielder Parker would like to coach and mould into the player he wants

I see Kalvin Phillips as a has-been. Whoever signs him will see him miss most games through injury.
