Bullshit posts yet again from two of the boards worst posters in Imploding Turtle & UpTheBeehole.
I've heard racist stuff maybe twice in 20 years and that was probably 15 years ago. If I heard it now I'd report it, not post it on a public forum and moan that there are racist things being shouted and the people carrying it out are still able to go on the Turf.

The only answer is to ban supporters from making any kind of noise in a football stadium apart from gentle applause...although this would not be permissible if it were thought to be ironic.

Re: FA issue statement to say some Burnley fans behaviour unacceptable on Saturday
The FA have condemned something without knowing the facts, before any investigation has taken place, and on Brighton's say so.
But I absolutely won't have it that they are a kangaroo court. No, definitely not

We should tell Brighton to show us the evidence of racism or we'll sue for defamation of character.

Is he any relation to the Brighton player, Glenn?

I know you're at times deliberately inflammatory, but this is just making stuff up.Imploding Turtle wrote:I don't like to go on games (not for this reason) but i don't think i've been on a single Burnley game where i've not been disgusted by someone shouting racist abuse.
Damaging stuff as well.
Re: FA issue statement to say some Burnley fans behaviour unacceptable on Saturday
They haven't accused Burnley FC of anything, only asked the police to look into it. In addition, it's nothing to do with BFC, only the supporters.Murger wrote:We should tell Brighton to show us the evidence of racism or we'll sue for defamation of character.
Also, it's ironic that supporters of BFC are saying Brighton want to drag it out, yet here we are with suggestions of dragging it through the courts.

Jesus IT, thats utter ********.
Its only happened that I can remember about four times in thirty plus years of supporting them, with me going to a hell of a lot of games, and only one of them was a home game.

Re: BHA to investigate Bong abuse claims
last time for me as well. Before that its Watford away under Waddles first season, a bunch of no marks calling the asian friend we were with the usual and then its probably Luton at home in the 4th? Utter idiot behind me (I might have only been about ten) calling Ricky Hill a spade all the time. I even had to ask my dad what that meant.
Thats it.
Thats it.

If someone is to report racial abuse it should be done in a proper manor
Raising it publicly is not correct
It is damaging to the person who is found not proven

Re: BHA to investigate Bong abuse claims
Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never break/harm me !!! (unless those words stop me from going about my legal and moral business)
I am of the opinion that if you call me something I find offensive or hurtful I may well (childishly ) respond and will look to say the most hurtful words I can use that may be based on your looks, that does not make me a racist. However if I stop some one doing something that is legally and morally their wright to do based on their looks beliefs then that is discrimination.
So did the actions stop the player from playing ? No Did he get paid a lot of money to entertain us ? yes When you go to a show/ pantomime do you boo the villain ? yes Does the said villain complain to any one ? no . Overall this means we are taught from a early age to boo villains. Villains do not have to be bad people just an action that upsets people
So I feel that the problem is Pantomimes and operas with immediate effect they should be reported to the FA and banned!!!!

Re: Bong wrong
Absolute rubbish.
If you think you have been racially abused you have every right to kick up as much fuss as possible.
My only criticism of Bong was that he really misrepresented jays 'apology' in the tweet he realeased following the investigation.
I dont doubt he thought jay had been racist towards him. I also am inclined to believe jays explaination. In this situation both can be right.
Booing him was always going to stir up the issue again, and as much as that tweet by Bong irked, it should have been left alone. I wish it had, because now our club has been dragged through the mud, and its given weirdos like imploding turtle the opportunity to spout more rubbish on here.

Re: BHA to investigate Bong abuse claims
I only remember once an act of clear racism by Burnley fans nearby to me, and (funnily enough as Brighton sang it at us at the game), it was “You’re a town full of p***s” being sang at Bradford City when we won 3-2 there in 2001.
This whole situation is a joke, Brighton, North Stand Chat, The Argus reporter who is the most defensive individual of all time on Twitter, Glenn Murray and Chris Hughton can do one. This isn’t about Gaetan Bong as far as Brighton fans and The Argus go, this is about Burnley FC.
The reason for that all goes back to our Championship winning season when ourselves and Middlesbrough left them crying and Michael Keane headed that beautiful goal in at the Amex. The vitriol they had for our club, fans, town (and Joey Barton for his stamp on Kayal that he got away with) was worse than I have heard than from the likes of Rovers and Preston. This all goes back to that. They have seen an opportunity to belittle us and our town because our achievements are so intoxicatingly beautiful, that the jealousy and inner turmoil of secretly respecting us compounded with the undying hatred from the 15/16 season have led them to an explosion of ridiculousness.
Just let this non story die, it’s mental.
The Argus will probably publish my quotes, if so here’s another - We’re all going on a European Tour.

Re: Glen Murray asking for punishment
This is all getting a bit out of hand. I actually want our fans to come up with a chant for the next game along the lines of "we can't boo you if you're black"... something so ridiculously ironic! It's absolutely pathetic the way the media are trying to stir up racial tension after the weekend. He was booed for being a cretin; pure and simple. Anything else is conjecture.

We booed him because we were disgusted he raised the race card against Jay Rodriguez.dpinsussex wrote:Can someone tell me what's wrong with booing a player???
Very difficult to PROVE there is an underlying reason
We felt able to boo a black guy thinking we've moved on from the neanderthal booing of all black men of the 70's.
Clearly some still see a link. I don't.

Problem there would of course be Brighton, the FA, Sky sports and the BBC would all deliberately twist that to a story suggesting we were sulkingly saying "we can't boo you for being black"jlup1980 wrote:This is all getting a bit out of hand. I think it's real progress that we can boo a black player........
I'd call it equality.
Racial abuse on the other hand is totally unacceptable and should be tackled head on.

Re: Glen Murray asking for punishment
Perhaps Dyche should have got a few clips of Murray's poor challenges on Saturday and his dissent and then ranted in the media about them...........on no hang on he has more class about him to talk negatively about opposition players that could get them banned.
What will happen when we play BHA next season, should we cheer and roundly applaud the Brighton players and manager regardless of any of the protected characteristics?
Will be interesting on Friday night to see if a black United player became a villan and was booed by the hissy fitters? (Can I say that, is it PC?)

Re: BHA to investigate Bong abuse claims
Same here with IT's made up (as most of his posts are) "racism at every game" nonsense. In 15 years going to about 35-40 games a year, three times. Admittedly, I'd be unlikely to be close to it at home given where I sit but away you're just with whoever you're with so I'll take my three instances (and even they were only small numbers of people or individuals) in about 300 away matches as evidence that it's not really like the man who doesn't go to games thinks it might based on what he thinks people he doesn't sit beside might say.
Re: Glen Murray asking for punishment
That was covered by "If someone who you're acquainted with and like, personally or by reputation ..."KRBFC wrote:The difference being you don't know Rodriguez.
Sorry you missed it.
Re: FA issue statement to say some Burnley fans behaviour unacceptable on Saturday
The kangaroo court started with the Rodriguez enquiry, resulting in a verdict of "not proven" and accompanied by a statement that they believed Bong was an honest man acting in good faith, while making no such statement about Rodriguez. That's not the way a quasi-judicial tribunal ought to act.Croydon Claret wrote:The FA have condemned something without knowing the facts, before any investigation has taken place, and on Brighton's say so.

Not sure if your contributions on this thread are some 'oh so clever' trolling trick where only you get the joke or not.Imploding Turtle wrote:I think it's ridiculous and delusional to think that there aren't racist shouts or chants at every Burnley game.
But you've lost it here. Where on earth do you sit at the Turf? I've not personally heard any racist abuse from Burnley fans for almost 30 years. I've stood on the Longside, Beehole and now sit in JHU, occasionally the JML and been to plenty of aways.
What was the last racist chant you heard? I'm guessing for most it would be 'town full of p***s' during Blackburn / Bradford from around 2000? I didn't go to either of those but totally accept it happened. But even that was 18 years ago now.
Seriously, I'd be interested to hear what these racist chants are that we're ridiculous and delusional to have not heard at EVERY Burnley game.
Re: FA issue statement to say some Burnley fans behaviour unacceptable on Saturday
That's where they've been clever. They've quite clearly associated BFC and monkey chants, in a way that even the Daily Telegraph condemns the club for - in the same sentence in which they accept there's no evidence that it ever happened. It's just stirring by BHA, but in a way that they can't be punished for.Spijed wrote:They haven't accused Burnley FC of anything, only asked the police to look into it. Also, it's ironic that supporters of BFC are saying Brighton want to drag it out, yet here we are with suggestions of dragging it through the courts.

If the racist comments came from the Bob Lord stand(which they didn't because there were no racist comments) then surely Brightons Directors or team bench or the subs running up and down the line would have heard the. They didn't because there were no such comments!

I'm not defending the actions of UTB or IT on this subject but he's bang on with some of that last post.
This board has racist posters on it, who don't waste any chance to post their views on here.
A "guest" viewer wouldn't miss that I'm afraid, and it does influence how other fans see us if they have been on here.
How many of us nip on to another clubs messageboard just to view what they think about how we are doing, or how we played against them?
Other fans of other clubs will do it as well.

Actual facts wont stop allegations being made, I wonder how many will now have recollections of monkey chants days after the event and now be outraged that they heard them and they are certain that they "heard what they heard and they did not mishear" much like the player who knew exactly what he heard and "did not mishear" even though in his own evidence to the FA inquiry he knows what he heard with 2 clearly distinct phrases that he used interchangeably in his own evidence.clansman wrote:If the racist comments came from the Bob Lord stand(which they didn't because there were no racist comments) then surely Brightons Directors or team bench or the subs running up and down the line would have heard the. That's a fair point Lancaster, there's some proper belmtards on here. But that's the internet. Hateful freaks spouting this crap sat in their bedrooms is par for the course.
It shows how well Burnley FC and its supporters - in the real world I mean - police themselves that this sort of language and abuse simply does not happen now. Pointing out there's racists on the internet is fine but hardly a revelation to make a headline, even in Brighton. But saying, well they're online so I bet there's loads chanting at matches too - in the total absence of any evidence - is a bit of a leap for me.

Re: FA issue statement to say some Burnley fans behaviour unacceptable on Saturday
I'm closing this thread because it has now reached the point where there are too many posts that need to be removed.
There are accusations from some posters of racists posting on here. We are currently working on setting up rules for this board that will come into place some time during the close season. We will rid this board of racists because it is what decent people want. I can confirm that a number of posters are currently serving suspensions for recent, and totally unacceptable, racist and/or homophobic posts. They are week long suspensions but in future those suspensions will become considerably longer.
We will continue to need everyone's help although the plan will be to have more mods which will enable us to police the board in a much better way than we do now. A big thanks to those who have reported posts on this thread which have enabled action to be taken.
