Just reading that Newcastle are planning/hoping for a mass exodus of fringe players
Including Jeff Hendrick - he is still contracted to them for this next season

Also wanting to move on players like Jamal Lewis, Ryan Fraser and Matt Richie

Pretty much my view on the two players.

Much more excited about the prospect of Hamer than Gyokeres, for that exact reason.

Hamer is their key player in my opinion.

Ryan Manning signed for saints on a free from Swansea, I think we missed the boat here with this lad, a very good left back & on a free you ain't going to get much better tbh.

Scored against West Ham under Jackson and assisted Vydra at home against Wolves under Jackson.

Good because I don't think Bruun would have a massive impact on Burnley despite his qualities. We should aim a lot higher than players like this.

Personal opinion but I think Hamer is too slow for the Prem.
Nice player, lovely skills, just not dynamic enough for a Prem sides midfield.

I’ve heard his name but literally no nothing about him. Happy to trust Kompany and his staff if they think he’s good enough for our squad.

Although I’m excited about this one, I think that is a fair shout. I watched him a LOT last season and it’s hard to explain but I sometimes thought he was lacking ‘something’ and maybe dynamism is the right word. Then he’d do something great - an assist, goal at a key time, press & tackle, etc.

I think he’d be a very good signing but not a £20m player the Cov fans say he is.

watching that, he's a lot like Brownhill... we do need cover in each position. I wouldn't be disappointed with signing him for the right price

Plays more as a holding/defensive midfielder but gets up the pitch too. A bit box to box really. Maybe that’s why VK wants him - different positions in and out of possession.

I can see what Charlie means. Sometimes looks to lack half a yard of pace/acceleration but seems to make up for it with his reading of the game.

They're an odd bunch. They seem to vastly over-inflate the value of all their players. As it stands they likely think McNally isn't worth anything more than we paid for him last summer. If he's a Coventry player this time next week he'll be worth £50m

It was suggested to me,at the weekend, that it wasn't as far along as the media were making out. Time will tell I guess.

For a supposedly top left back on a free transfer there wasn’t exactly much clamour for him.

I hope not, Taylor is one of our most experienced premier league players and has now proven to be excellent at left back and centre back. We should be keeping him.
