Deleted. Must remember not to feed trolls.Thomasyoung wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 7:30 pmWe could take any 1 of your players on a simplistic whim without resistance I'm hoping we have our sights set higher than your goalkeeper but the Collins chap is a tantalising prospect with the age & I hope our recruitment will take him.
Any one of our players? Just the one? Could I possibly interest you in a young chap called Dale Stephens...?Thomasyoung wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 7:30 pmWe could take any 1 of your players on a simplistic whim without resistance I'm hoping we have our sights set higher than your goalkeeper but the Collins chap is a tantalising prospect with the age & I hope our recruitment will take him.
He's not Charlie Austin you know.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 8:52 pmVery true.

Screen shot this, this could be one of the extreamely rare occasions I'm wrong, and that could be a major scoop for you.RVclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 8:37 pm'His latest release is from the Dutch 2nd tier, it's not a great standard'
So you have judged a player as being really poor and League One at best despite knowing nothing about him other than a few clubs he's been at.
Sounds like you have an innate ability there.
It’s certainly not the bestclaretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 8:47 amThe article is actually worse than I thought it would be

Only thing I found interesting was Collins saying he doesn’t know where he will end up. I’m assuming he will have plenty of suitors, up to Kompany and Pace to get him to commit.
Marry me Nathan, marry me please.warksclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 9:06 amI am hoping Pace & VK sit down with Collins to tell him how vital he is to our plans. Consider making him captain now Mee has gone, and tell him that if we win promotion then great, you will be in the PL again. If we don't then we will consider offers for you next May. I think Nathan may not play regularly for a while if he goes to a strong PL side. He still has a mistake in him and the PL as he knows is unkind. With us he will play all 46 league games if fit, and his value will seriously increase in 10 months if he keeps his form up. Plus to replace him will drain our funds. He will not lose his international place with us regardless of our decision
I love Nick Pope to bits and he is the best goalkeeper I have ever seen for us.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 12:48 pmNewcastle keen on Nick pope according to Keith Downie
Hopefully if this happened we would treat their odious owners the same as every other club in Europe and stick another 5-10m on the asking pricejedi_master wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 12:52 pmI love Nick Pope to bits and he is the best goalkeeper I have ever seen for us.
But...
This is good news. Wayne Hennessey is a perfectly adept keeper for the Championship and we need a minimum of one big sale this summer I'd have said. Newcastle will pay more than anyone else (I'd guess minimum £25m is in the offing from them).
Like I've been saying, the most realistic club he'd go to that's left.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 12:48 pmNewcastle keen on Nick pope according to Keith Downie
You wanna see some of the deluded comments from the Newcastle fans, they've gone all Billy big ********.
I know they have completely lost the plot, but even so they must see Pope as an improvement on Dubravka surely?claretandy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 1:05 pmYou wanna see some of the deluded comments from the Newcastle fans, they've gone all Billy big ********.
Yeah I’ve seen half say terrible signing and half say perfect - though that’s just on twitter and kinda what you get anywayclaretandy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 1:05 pmYou wanna see some of the deluded comments from the Newcastle fans, they've gone all Billy big ********.
I'd love to see Newcastle crash and burn, and just because they now have the Saudi money behind them doesn't guarantee success in itself.claretandy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 1:05 pmYou wanna see some of the deluded comments from the Newcastle fans, they've gone all Billy big ********.
I'm sure we have him valued at twice that
Nixon did say we put a 40m valuation.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 1:12 pmI'm sure we have him valued at twice that
We won't get it, but it will cost them at least Wood type money I think
I’ll be very very surprised, see above postjedi_master wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 1:15 pmIf Newcastle want Pope we will get £25-30m.
I fully believe it.
Yep with being in the Champ that extra year might be in favour of the player, like with Cork, who knows.
He seems to spend his life being wrong so that is good. Pope isn't out of contract either there is the option of another year in the clubs favour so effectively 2 year
Is it in the clubs favour though? Cork had something similar in his deal and he looks to be looking for suitors elsewhereclaretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 1:51 pmHe seems to spend his life being wrong so that is good. YesNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 1:52 pmIs it in the clubs favour though? Cork had something similar in his deal and he looks to be looking for suitors elsewhere
That wouldn’t surprise me tbh. It’s pretty much the going rate for a keeper over 30
Do we know it’s still active in the Champ? Everyone thought Cork’s was in the clubs favour but not if relegated. Pope may be the same?
