Do you think Bastien is a replacement for Brownhill? Looking at his stats, he breaks up play, has 2.2 interceptions, has the energy but has over 80% successful pass completion. Seem very similar but for the end result.

Be great if we had another "Dean Marney" in Bastien. Guess we will learn after a few games

It's possible I suppose, and if selling Brownhill for a decent fee allows us to stretch the funds to recruit a striker who'll bag 20 in this league, that could be good business.

it makes me think the width will be expected to come from Taylor and Roberts rather than a traditional ‘winger’ - pure guesswork by me though.
If this were to happen we would be falling in line with most of the top teams in Europe. A system that allows for 3 at the back or a holding MF dropping back to cover the FB and keep a 4. I would be delighted

Anything is better than having 2 slowish old fashioned strikers up top and being outnumbered in midfield. Then blaming the likes of Westy for everything.

He's been brought in to play the role Brownhill will fulfill, whether that's as competition or replacement remains to be seen. From what I've seen he's similar energy as Brownhill but more efficient and incisive with his passing. He is more lightweight, however, so it could take him time to adjust.

Interesting - could mean he still wants Cullen then to compete with Cork?

The one positive from Brian Laws tenure. I guess Lee Grant was a decent goalie too.Lets hope

Its the changes to midfield that are beginning to excite me. We had become very predictable , slow and lacking athleticism and creativity with Westwood/Brownhill and Cork

Whilst I loved the commitment that Marney applied to his Game, plus the 20mins per match that Deary contributed. I’m hoping that the players we’re signing/after, are somewhat superior to those two 😵💫. Plus the players we have in Cork,Westwood and Brownhill are also far ahead of those two players.

Don’t think we are bringing in midfielders to replace ones so they can leave, VK will want a strong squad especially now that teams can use 5 subs, add in injuries & loss of form we will need a strong squad. Lets not forget our strong runs in both cups….. :D

This has been mentioned many times now. He was 19 at this time and he played 5 games for them. He’s since had a very impressive season in Turkey and been Kosovo’s number 1 for the past 2/3 years. Kompany is a huge fan and that’ll do for me.

Owen Dodgson signed a new 3 year deal. VK must have authorised it so good news.

Corberan has just quit at Huddersfield, great timing for us.

Took a look at his stats from last season and they aren't too bad actually, compared alongside Nick Pope here.

Last Season for Arijanet Muric
1.17 Conceded Per 90 min'
26% Clean Sheets - 8/31 matches

Last Season for Nick Pope
1.25 Conceded - Per 90 min'
25% Clean Sheets - 9/36 matches

Big difference in standard obviously, but you'd wager the Turkish Super League is a similar if not slightly better standard than the Championship.

Providing nobody else leaves, we should have arguably the best back four in the league. I'd expect he'll do pretty well.

I was put off by what I'd seen of him previously, but the stats look okay for me.

Hitc (I know) are reporting Muleka is on £32k/w at Besiktas. And a 5 year deal.

Can only imagine that was the reason it broke down? Seems a lot of commitment for a Championship team.

I'm so pleased that it's our turn have the upper hand in dealings with Forest.

Their past dealings with us have not been good, to put it mildly.

See how they like being strung along.

Must admit I’d drag it out as long as possible and then on the final day tell them we’ve decided to keep Hennessy; then get him to say he never really wanted to go there. It won’t happen but it would be a little bit of payback. I expect Forest fans to be on the level straight away for fan arrogance, be nice to give them the bird.

They've lost a lot of stars, jiminez hasn't been the same since he came back, and the money has dried up.

Each to their own eh. I think he’d be quality in the Championship and in a different system. He’s obviously highly regarded by other managers in the premier league.

agree, if I came on here and said we've been linked with a free transfer of a 26 year old, here are some highlights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1q55iZUOlc everyone would be well up for it. I really hope we keep him

Taking all attributes we would want from a central midfielder I would put Brownhill above Cork and Westwood

The average player ratings for last season backed that up

Brownhill 6.30, Cork 6.13, Westwood 5.58
