Could some cricket connoisseur inform me why, with replay, lbws that have pitched outside leg stump cannot be given out. If it was hitting the stumps.

Basically if you allowed that you could bowl around the wicket trying to get the ball to hit the stumps behind the batter - would make it hard for the batter to attempt to play a shot constantly across his/her body.

It’s a bit of a blind spot so they’ve allowed a batsmen to be allowed to pad those deliveries away.

Yup some of them deliveries are basically unplayable - but at least you have the option of padding them out if you’re good enough pick them… easier said than done mind
