Please can we stop having lunatic Lee Mooney having so much influence as well? Holy **** do we need a proper, experienced DOF that has played the game.

What happened to only letting players leave once adequate replacements had been brought in?
To end up with that team today, that bench, and playing a defender that we’re actively trying to sell as a striker is criminal.
I’m not one for knee jerk reactions, or hysteria, but that defeat today is on Pace. He has seen nothing but pound signs this past 2 weeks.

I know the state of the squad doesn’t look great right now but if the players who have left or heavily rumoured to be leaving. Who’s actually left or going to leave that we didn’t actually expect.
For me it’s only O’Shea, zaroury and JBG that are shocks for me.
Fully expected likes of Odobert, Berge, Amdouni, muric, benson, twine all to leave but just didn’t expect them to leave after the first 2 games of the season

There was talk of 5 year plans not so long ago.
The only plan we have now is to sell everyone of value.

I think I expected those 3, plus perhaps Amdouni, to stay with us. But that's 15% - 20% of a squad that we've let go thar probably wasn't expected. And we've done it very late in the transfer window.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 5:18 pmI know the state of the squad doesn’t look great right now but if the players who have left or heavily rumoured to be leaving. I said a week ago I thought the rumours about the volume of outgoings were probably a but overstated. Quite obviously I was wrong about and I don't especially understand the business plan that allows all those players to leave so suddenly.

If it's true (Kolo), we could be at the crossroads in the history of our Club, especially if O'Shea and Amdouni go this week also. In fact might as well sell Esteve as well, and we'll be approaching £200m in sales. I am getting nervous about the intentions of the Board.

It 100% feels worse with how late it is all happening, had all these moves happened before a ball was kicked we would have had a better idea of what we are going to be like. Now we have had the false sense of security with the first 2 lineups.claretspice wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 5:41 pmI think I expected those 3, plus perhaps Amdouni, to stay with us. I wouldn’t blame koleosho for saying look what’s going on here, if everyone is leaving then I want to leave to. Same with esteve
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I dont mind the board making money. But leaving the manager with so few players to choose from is bad. I mean really bad. No wonder players want to leave.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
No way Wolves can afford Koleosho, surely. Widely reported they only had £20m to spend and they couldn't meet our asking price for O'Shea.
Can't blame Koleosho if he's pushing to leave though, given we've sold/are selling everyone around him.

It might not be the dictionary definition of a fire sale, but it’s certainly appearing to be a closing down sale with the shop being ALK Capital and the stock being our players.

It isn't that it feels worse, it's that if worse. It gives us less time to replace them and destabilises the remaining squad and prompts them to question their futures.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 5:44 pmIt 100% feels worse with how late it is all happening, had all these moves happened before a ball was kicked we would have had a better idea of what we are going to be like. But it's also too many outgoings. If it's a function of the financing model then it's clearly unsustainable. As a strategy to maximise squad value its suspect (Solanki got top dollar for Solanki after being retained for a year or two in the Championship). And it's a strategy noone would advise to secure promotion.

There are players leaving that I don't want to see go, but it's not a fire sale, and I'll wait till next Friday before coming to any conclusion on this window.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Because our Owner was besotted with his previous manager he allowed him to stock pile a senior player list of about 40 players, we had to left 15 players leave to just have a squad of 25. The issue is half of the players didn’t have much value so we are having to sell our squad players with value, likes of zaroury and al-dakhilclaretspice wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 5:49 pmIt isn't that it feels worse, it's that if worse. Twine going for 3m, McNally linked for 2m and obafemi going on loan shows the lack of value they have

I have a feeling that those posters expecting 3 or 4 “quality signings” to arrive before the window closes are in for a reality check.
I hope I am wrong but letting players leave with PL experience and replacing them with Championship level players doesn’t feel like they are planning to upgrade.

It's a sale that takes us from top 2 favourites to top 6 if we're lucky. Who has replaced Odobert?
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I didn't realise the owners had been out kicking players so they can't play, or passing on sickness bugs, but yes, if that's the case it's very bad
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Any player that is currently weighing up an offer from us will have watched that sh1te today and blown out the water any assurances that we will be premier league next year. So incoming may not be as busy as some think.

As for offering a view on transfers, again like I wrote earlier I’ll judge it after Rovers when the window shuts, and when I see the lineup at Leeds. Obvious we have to sell before we buy, it would be negligent to do the opposite, I’m hopeful this game just fell at the wrong time,
Players will want to leave, that’s obvious. Some will go to the best club’s in a particular country who are in the Champion’s League too. We just have to maximise the cash. But make sure we reinvest.
Whatever the rebuild, it will be less than 2 years ago.
