We have a rebuild every season. Is that really what people want?CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 5:56 pm“We” go nowhere, we support the team and get behind Parker as I wrote. That’s our job.
As for offering a view on transfers, again like I wrote earlier I’ll judge it after Rovers when the window shuts, and when I see the lineup at Leeds. Obvious we have to sell before we buy, it would be negligent to do the opposite, I’m hopeful this game just fell at the wrong time,
Players will want to leave, that’s obvious. Some will go to the best club’s in a particular country who are in the Champion’s League too. We just have to maximise the cash. But make sure we reinvest.
Whatever the rebuild, it will be less than 2 years ago.

I can see what's happening very well thank you, we've been relegated, when that happens players leave just like they did last time. The manager has just said players that don't want to be here will be leaving, and we will be bringing new players in.
What is it that you think is happening?

It's taking the absolute p1ss if they have stopped him playing all those players because of possible transfers.

But that can’t be true because Alan appeared to really care about the club (in the TV series that he commissioned).jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 5:49 pmIt might not be the dictionary definition of a fire sale, but it’s certainly appearing to be a closing down sale with the shop being ALK Capital and the stock being our players.

Clearly not.
But this one is due to Kompany (and others) messing up last season badly (and, to give them a bit of credit, being shafted in numerous ways not least being given an impossible early run of fixtures).
But my suspicion now is things had become so toxic many want to go. Particularly many of the overseas players. So a rebuild is again essential. That feels more likely than a board-induced fire sale.

I know Vincent is still worshipped by some on this board but I think it’s becoming more and more clear the damage that he has done to this club is unreal.
Pace and the board fell for it all and now as a club we are seeing the outcome.
The board can still rescue this situation but it’s going to need some deep pockets and trust in the new manager

I don’t care if the business model works in the Owners eyes because of profit they make but it doesn’t work as fans, a club like Burnley needs players we know are going to be with us season after season like checketts said. We had it with pope Tarky mee Westwood cork Barnes.
People can say what they want about corks legs but there’s no way the midfield gets dominated like it did today with cork in the team

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
This is the first time I’ve passed judgement on the model because 22/23 we obviously had to rebuild a squad. 23/24 I kind of understand the route they went down but just over loaded certain positions but this summer is just crazy, yes we had to lose players but it’s getting to a stage of the players you thought we were going to build around are leaving.
Esteve has to be looking around today thinking what an earth am I doing here. Egan-Riley actually performed alright but it’s such a tough ask to chuck someone who’s barely featured for us, in at CB.
I feel for Parker but I also think after Luton he said it would be certain tactics for certain teams, we set up completely the same as we did for Cardiff when we didn’t have to players available to do that.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
So are we deliberately taking the **** with our attacking / wide options? What is going on?
A few weeks ago we had these players who could play in the 3 positions behind the striker
Benson
Zaroury
JBG
Twine
Koleosho
Odobert
Amdouni
Vitinho
Redmond
Ramsey
Tresor
So are you telling me that we are potentially going to sell ALL of these players and be left with Ramsey, Redmond and Tresor who are either crocked or unavailable for the forseeable?
What a **** show

They've had a similar start to us (Liverpool and Man City) but if they can win home games then it'll give them a chance, the abysmal home form gave us no chance at all.Sutton-Claret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 6:23 pmI'm shocked he chose Ipswich - it'll be a very long season fighting relegation, lots of drubbings, likely resulting in relegation back to the Championship.

The first issue is obviously selling anything that's not bolted down but even if there is considerable investment in the playing side before the weekend, we are back to integrating so many new players into the side.
The Championship doesn't allow time on the training ground due to the consistent schedule of games.

We probably need to revist this thread next week.NewClaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 5:22 pmFair enough, I’ll be surprised if current squad + rumoured additions could stay in the premier league for a year when we’ve lost our three best players from a season where we accumulated 24 points (although accept that was in part because of how we played).
I’d say we look as far as ever from a premier league squad now, maybe slightly ahead of where we were at the end of summer in our last Championship season on the grounds of O’Shea, Esteve, Amdouni, Tresor, Ramsay being decent players but we’ve also lost Maatsen, Tella, Muric & soon Anass too.
There is of course another week of the window to go, so that opinion might change. And of course Parker will know he has two more windows and a big immediate challenge to face first which is the immediate priority.

Who cares about the money it’s not like it’s going to benefit the club.
