Many of our current players have grown with us, some started with us in the Championship, others had PL experience.
It's a bigger ask to get someone to fit immediately into a set-up that is a league above anything they've played in.
Time will tell

As a point of interest, how many of our current first team squad were REGULAR premier league players when we signed them?
1. Cork
Anyone else?

One of Burnley's great strengths is that we develop players. Players grow with Burnley. We signed Wade Elliot from Bournmouth (Div 1/Div 2) when were were in the Championship and he became a Premier league player.
Give the lad a chance.

We could sign Bobby Charlton and there'd still be posters on here demanding that we all just 'give the lad a chance'

Wells is as close to Gray as anyone when it comes to goals to games ratio. Watford paid us 18m for a 1 in 2.3 striker, we've paid 5m for a 1 in 2.6 striker. As I've been saying since the link first surfaced, very shrewd business. Clever old Sean.

Crazy signing on every single level, must have been plan H at the very least.

It sounds like you're saying you hope this turns out to be a bad signing and ends badly for us. Like you hope he doesn't score when he comes off the bench and you hope he doesn't do it enough times that he earns a start.

Nope not hoping he doesn't score for us ( you've made that bit up ) I hope we are never in the position we have to Start Nahki Wells in a premier League game. I'd of* been disappointed if we signed him in the championship.
I am of the opinion he isn't good enough for us, and it will end in a similar way to Juke, Marvin, hennings and Vossen.
A panic buy that will have little effect on us moving forward and will cost us a small fortune.

I'm not upset. If I got upset every time a so-called fan makes unfounded negative judgements about the team, players and management based on nothing other than what they've heard in the press then I'd be a very angst ridden person indeed.

He was plan H?
Mr Garlicks up beat interview could be like all others, full of false promises and lies?

I don't think this signing is the real issue. We were never going to be dancing in the streets but it's now become a focus for people to vent that are disappointed that we haven't addressed the glaring holes, a CB and pacey right winger. If this had been announced along with 2 other signings that filled those gaps most would probably have shrugged and said I guess it gives a different option upfront. 6.5 hours to go, keep your fingers crossed.

That's the problem.
The CB issue (which is a worry) and winger issue are completely separate but people are using it as an excuse to **** all over this deal

I've not made anything up, I've told you what your whiney post makes you sound like - like you're hoping a Burnley signing isn't going to be a success because it's not sufficiently showbiz for you. Get a grip. We've just broke our transfer record on a CF and we look good playing 1 up top. We've still got our top scorer from last season and we've replaced last season's ineffective showbiz forward with a lad in a similar mould with as good a scoring record at Championship level (where all our forwards have come from) as anyone else in the squad. For not a lot of money. Which is good.
Who were you after to come and sit on the bench? Wilfried Bony? Or someone you've never heard of from a French second division side?

Hope it works out for him here. In fairness I think he has a better first touch then AG not sure about his othercstrengths. Good luck and in Dyche we trust.
