Dyched wrote:Your suggesting Italy have a right to be there over QUALIFIED countries from different continents. Burnley would beat Milan/Inter/Roma. Should we take there plac in Seria A?

13 european places were up for grabs in the qualification. Italy failed. Why the hell should they be at the world cup if they ain’t in the top 13 teams in Europe? They may be better than Panama or South Korea. But they ain't better than Sweden. Sweden ain’t exactly footballing gods yet Italy couldn’t beat them.
I didn't say they deserve to be there, I want to see the best 32 International teams in the World Cup regardless of the continent and I believe the current format punishes European teams and rewards other continents with free passes into the competition which takes some shine off the spectacle which is the World Cup.

FT 3-0, another really competitive game, I wonder how many teams will finish with 0 points in the group stages.

Good effort from Panama. Was always going to be a tough challenge. They did create a few chances but Belgium, understandably, had a little too much for them on the day.

For the record, I like seeing underdogs compete in the World Cup. I genuinely enjoy that as much as I do watching the strongest national teams.

Not a bad lineup - some decent attacking talent. I'm not convinced by our defence but obviously Trippier and Young can drop back as needed to offer more support.

Lingard was off but they were told not to flag when it’s that tight.

First of all, GET IN!

Second, I feel for the Tunisia keeper. He has made a couple of really excellent saves and will have to go off after picking up an injury. Hard to bear in a World Cup I'm sure.

Pickford has kicked the ball out five times and it's gone to a white shirt five times.

Great distribution.

It's not been that bad!
England started off the first 15 minutes plus pretty well!

But the last 10 they've all had a collective 'Doh'.

Sterling going back to his form at the turf also, shouldn't cost us in the group stages but might in the latter rounds.

Walker having a nightmare and Machinegun leg not much better.

Tripps, Henderson doing well so far.

As said previously, Pickford's distribution not too good so far, and that's why he's been picked !!!!!!!

And there you go, nightmare Walker strikes again. Gormless git, right on cue.
