Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
It's the different Aaron Ramsey and that was a couple of weeks ago.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
if its Jacob Ramsey that's good news, Villa Aaron Ramsey is a bit meh
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Jacob starts for Villa so I’d say it’ll be Aaron. He was on loan at Norwich and Boro last season.

There is more chance of it being Gordon Ramsey than Jacob at 10m

Apparently the Boey offer has been rejected...the 20m included the bonuses which wasn't acceptable

Burnley offered Galatasaray 20 M € for Boey.
• However, the offer reaches 20 M € with bonus items such as playing a certain number of Premier League games, being selected for the French National Team, staying in the league and participating in the European Cups.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Couldn't we just throw Weghorst in with the deal or would that put the price higher123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 1:45 pmBurnley offered Galatasaray 20 M € for Boey.

Could add another €1m for him winning a Balon D’or.

McNally, Stoke?
Just seen on Twitter he has allegedly signed a one year loan deal with Stoke. Is it true?

I bet Wilf Zaha is getting paid plenty ! Gala have loads of money and I would imagine Besiktas aren't skint. I reckon they'll come in with a cheeky bid or loan bid for him

Add ons for reaching Europe? Can't deny Kompany and the board don't have high ambitions. Though realistically selling clubs will see that as never happening.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 1:45 pmBurnley offered Galatasaray 20 M € for Boey.

Signed Sane for Bournemouth for £5,000,000 up front and £150,000,000 if he played one game for Germany.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 2:46 pmRecruitment team taking a leaf out of my old Football Manager transfer strategy…

True, it is of course possible, but if you're a selling club and Burnley add in some of the transfer fee stipulated on us qualifying for Europe then clubs won't agree to this.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 2:56 pmThat’s despite the fact we’ve done it a few years ago

Other clubs probably do something similar
Boro, for example, didn’t get the full amount for Gibson because he didn’t activate all the triggers

There other add ons are very achievable sooner rather than later but the European one is a big achievement for a newly promoted sideclaretburns wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 2:48 pmAdd ons for reaching Europe? Just put £100 on us getting in the top six at 33-1 and a top ten finish at 6-1. if Vincent Kompany and the board are thinking big so can we.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
So is the Lokonga deal a permanent then ? Sacha says the meeting was about personal terms, if it was a loan deal then surely that would be a discussion we had with Arsenal and not the player ?

Not sure about the process but if it's a loan with a permanent move next summer, then wouldn't we need to discuss wages for a potential contract from 2024 onwards?Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:24 pmSo is the Lokonga deal a permanent then ? I think it will be lokonga will want guarantees of what his wage will be if the move is made perm next summer. Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
The rumoured deal for Lokonga from last week was something like it being an obligatory purchase if we stay up or he plays a certain amount of games, and an optional if we go down I think. I imagine it's also some finer points around that mechanism and what clauses force us into a buy in either eventuality and the salary he would be on if he were (for example) to play enough games but we still get relegated and so on.
I imagine they're quite difficult deals to do.

I agree he could be the perfect 8 next to Cullen. Also in canes when we really need a solid 3 in midfield Cullen, lokonga and brownhill does sound a good 3

Re: McNally, Stoke?
I agree with those sentiments. I couldn't see him playing for us this season, but if we were to go down or more optimistically get offered £30+ million each for Al Dakhil and Ekdal next summer, I can see him stepping up then.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:06 pmgreat move for him and sensible from us, this gives him 2 years experience and if it all goes tits up for us we might end up needing him

I have to say that I know nothing about Lokonga. I don’t think I’ve ever see him play. It is an area that needs strengthening though so happy with it if it comes off.

I don't know vast amounts about Lokonga but from what I do know he seems to be the sort of player we've needed for the best part of a decade. All throughout our last spell in the Prem, a midfielder similar to Lokonga would have took us to another level.
Excited about this one.
