It is now the Gray discussion thread, how else do we get to a thousand posts?
Although it's Wilfred Bony s clothes thread too if that helps.

Reading the papers he's requesting anything from £75k to £100k a week with no official quotes from him or his agent denying anything.

I hope it is a load of rubbish but he's got 12 months left and still not signed a new contract which is "bizarre" for someone who wants to stay at the club.
There's no proof anywhere that he's seeking £75-100k a week though.
There are more prolific strikers earning similar or less money than Gray.

Do you know for fact that negotiations aren't ongoing?

No smoke without fire as they say. Has to be some truth in it otherwise he would have actually come out and stated otherwise or even the club could have stated that discussions haven't been ongoing. Agents tend to pluck figures from the sky and put them out there, if they get it all fine and well if not then they usually start to look around for a club that will.

If Britt is on the reported £60k a week do you honestly think gray will accept or be looking for anything less? He has no allegiance to the club, he wasn't a youth player brought through the ranks of have any real connection so what difference does it make for him to demand more money knowing someone elsewhere will give it to him.

Many talk about international careers and wanting to play at the highest level but as yourself one question, would you work for double your wages somewhere else? I think most of you would and any who say they wouldn't are just lying to themselves and everyone else.

I don't think Dyching with success knows what he is ! Perhaps if we pointed Dyching in the direction of the Gender Neutralisation and Equality thread !

He gets grief for scoring 9, yet Vokes is lauded for scoring 10, how does that work?

As for the wages, he dismissed it on twitter.

Have I missed anything ?
Think due to penalties, and the 3 against Sunderland many may think he didn't do too well for large parts of the season, yet Sam probably looked to offer more all round value and contributed to more games/results.

I don't thing Gray gives off good vibes either, he always seems p1ssed off and grumpy IMO.

Oh and he's offside too much and couldn't trap a bag of cement ;)

Boro have dismissed the £60k a week figure already though.

As for working for double elsewhere, football is a different animal.

I could earn more money selling car parts, but not much more unless I decided to enter management again and even that's a limited window, I'd need to rejoin Euro's to ensure the money would be worth the loss of time at home.

As it is I'm better paid then a large chunk of people who work in motor factors as sales advisors.

In football its easier to increase your wages.

Good link RickM. I've never seen that site before - had quite a giggle at the "Jose shoots Rooney" story.
Ive added that to my favourites along with Daily Mash, News Thump etc. Good to have some specific footy satire as well as all the political/lifestyle stuff.

You're right Cutsy, hurting himself and then having a second do and making it worse is just plain reckless. Monk is clearly not happy jusdging by his comments.

If he loses 6-7 yards of pace like the article suggests, he may have to play in goal next season otherwise I think his days as a pro are done.
