One united will be laughing all the way to the bank, and it's certainly not Leeds at that price.
I must admit I haven't seen a lot of Dan James for Man U, but I did watch him closely in all of wales games in the Euro's, and the amount of times he had the chance to deliver a ball, or a killer pass on the break, and his final ball was sadly lacking, pace is all well and good, but if you've no end product it means nothing.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I’ll be honest, hard for me to call this window as anything other than a total success.
If you add a right back and Dyche extension then it’s top class.
Question becomes whether this has all come too late to save us for another year. Only time can tell.

I can confirm I've written nothing for Maitland-Niles so if we were to sign him that one would catch me out.
Christie
Roberts
?? One that’s been kept well under the radar? Can’t think of any other players we’ve been linked to

If you piece it together…. Articles aren’t just written for inbound, but also for outbound….. suspect the unused one might be a Tarkowski deal to Leicester but the one that won’t be used…..

McNeil to Everton or Villa, with Christie or Lookman in.
Vydra to somewhere, probably in Europe?
Bardsley in a swop?
Long in a swop?
Tarks to Arsenal if they have any logic left.

Apparently we are/were in the mix for Christie, but his preference is a move to the south coast.
Ambitious lad if true. Why play in the Prem, when you can play in the tier below in front of 10000 fans?

4 years at Chelsea during which he’s played 12 Premier League games (5 of them starts) plus 1 league game for us, 4 for Villa and 11 (6 starts) for Kassimpasa.
Good work if you can get it.

Not really. If his priority is wanting regular starts in what he sees as his preferred position and Bournemouth are in a better place to offer him that then good on the player for putting football ahead of money.
Isnt one of the reasons Cornet wanted away from Lyon because he doesnt want to be overly used as a full back.

Fair play to him if he’s willing to turn down Premier League football, more money and to be closer to Scotland.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Article in The Scotsman
"Bournemouth are increasingly confident that the promise of free-flowing football under Scott Parker, as they seek to translate promotion-favourite status into a return to the Premier League, will convince Christie to begin a fresh chapter of his career at the Vitality Stadium."
Obviously his style of free flowing football worked well at Fulham and might sway Christie's decision

Mental if he turns us down for Bournemouth.
If he wants to play in front of 56 fans week in week out then good for him.

Fair point, but is part of playing football professionally not also about testing yourself at the highest level you can during your short career?Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 8:17 pmNot really. If he is going to Bournemouth over us then for me that is quite refreshing as clearly he is moving to play football in the right position rather than for money.
If we had guaranteed he will play in his favoured position then I would find it strange and agree with you.

Of course but at 26 he might feel he has just as much chance reaching the highest level by moving to Bournemouth and playing in the position he thinks he can excel at.agreenwood wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 8:23 pmFair point, but is part of playing football professionally not also about testing yourself at the highest level you can during your short career?
If he was choosing Bournemouth for the money I could understand the criticism but he's obviously making a choice based on what he thinks is best for himself from a footballing perspective and that for me is refreshing to see.
How it works out is to be seen but I think labelling him as lacking ambition is a little unfair.
