Don’t know if it means much but Whittaker wasn’t in the Plymouth squad last night
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
In fairness I think (at this moment) the PL is above his paygrade and he wasn't playing in a brilliant team.
But I do reckon out wide might as an inside forward kind of role rather than a winger might suit him. To me he seems a stronger runner with the ball at his feet and is great at carrying the team up the pitch 50-60 yards.
He isnt great at holding the ball up and I don't recall thinking 'that's a really clever run' like you see from the most adept sniffers.

Don’t know much about Whittaker. But hasn’t someone on here described him as Ollie Watkins-esque?

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Several seasons ago Billing looked absolutely excellent on the Turf playing for Udders and I'd have been more than happy for us to have nicked him before he moved to Bournemouth and carried it on. My worry now is we're 2 years too late and he could be this season's Nathan Redmond. If he really has still got it, he'd be a great signing, but I'm not sure.

He’s 28. Should be in his prime years.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:37 pmSeveral seasons ago Billing looked absolutely excellent on the Turf playing for Udders and I'd have been more than happy for us to have nicked him before he moved to Bournemouth and carried it on. His most prolific scoring spell for Plymouth coincided with Finn Azaz still being at the club who provided numerous assists. Azaz left for Middlesbrough in January 2024.

I .mentioned Morgan Whittaker at the start of the window as being very similar to Ollie Watkins and one we should snap up
This would be a excellent signing and throwing in Obafemi may just clinch the deal

Interesting that it’s only Romano reporting Whittaker, there’s no a single uk journo reporting it

Apologies if I've missed it but is Delcroix injured? Not heard any links away for him. Looking at the squad it would probably be a good idea to keep him around.

Based on the WhatsApp leaks, it sounds like that wouldn’t be a good idea!

Not hard to imagine that Romano has a price list. There are lots of influencers that will shill a certain product for a price.
Club X wants to unsettle Y player - Can you do a tweet fab? £2500 please and it's done.
Agent A wants player B moved on - Can you do a tweet fab? £2500 please and it's done.
Shady ******* F wants the market to move on betting site G - Can you do a tweet fab? £2500 please and it's done.
It stinks.

He looked alright as he lobbed Trafford from a mile out last season.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:37 pmSeveral seasons ago Billing looked absolutely excellent on the Turf playing for Udders and I'd have been more than happy for us to have nicked him before he moved to Bournemouth and carried it on. I don’t hold too many hopes for incoming players. Think weve left it too late, unless there is some magic happening in the back ground.

The interesting thing is that these stories appears absolutely nowhere else, even 24 hours later.cblantfanclub wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 2:52 pmDon't follow any pundits but intrigued by this Sacha bloke. All I know about him is what I read on here. He appears to have knowledge about deals (sometimes to a forensic level) that he shouldn't have. This leads me to the thought that he is hand in glove with agents and possibly some clubs. If so he is a very dangerous character to have around football. Some info will be true leaked to help his credibility but others, as some have suggested, to manipulate the market. I may be alone but I think the football authorities should be checking up on him and some others.
If Foster really was on the verge of a £25m move to Ipswich, wouldn’t a journalist have picked up on it by now?

Plymouth fans seem to think he's a bit lazy, most think 10 is a fair price and Swansea have a 20% slice too. One post reckons we've bid 6.75 + add ons which I agree is too low

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Whittaker scored a cracker at QPR last weekend. Had quite a good game with some good passes through the lines.

I really don't see Foster going to Ipswich, they've signed Ogbene from Luton

Plymouth reject Burnley offer for Whittaker
Latest from Sky Sports News' Mark McAdam & Alan Myers:
Burnley have seen an offer for Plymouth for Morgan Whittaker rejected.
The Clarets' offer fell short of Plymouth’s valuation of the forward.

Reported loan with option to buy. We must be skint.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Everything we’re doing both in and out speaks to big cash flow problems. Hannibal yes, permanent but heavily incentivised in Utd’s favour, Humphreys, Anthony, Sarmiento and now Whittaker all attempted as loans…
Like Plymouth would ever go for such an insulting offer.

Issue is as we all know. You sell as many players as we have for the amount of money we have and smaller clubs like Plymouth will want majority of the money upfront. Certainly aren’t interested in loans with options based upon promotion
