Agree with you about the penalty shout,CT. Me and my son sat directly behind you in the 2nd half but he thought it wasn't a pen. The fog on the A1 didn't prevent a few lunatics speeding past us though.

I was the only one of the three of us that thought it was a pen but I was also the only one who saw we'd hit the post. It's usually the other way round to be fair, it's usually me who gets it wrong.

We didn't use the A1 - went straight down from the stadium to the A19 and then down there to Thirsk. We didn't hit the fog until we'd got past the race course at Thirsk and it cleared once we'd got to Ripon. But it wasn't good although thankfully we weren't on roads wide enough for the lunatics to speed past.

I presume, at least, you didn't have dogs roaming the A1.

Never a pen for me. It's a little bit clumsy but Darikwa doesn't even make challenge. Anywhere else on the pitch Defoe would stand his ground and shield ball - he just felt a bit of contact and fell over.

Yes Hendrick looked good at the end, impressive.

The 2 injuries might just force SD ( like Duff's poor game at Hull led to what was needed) to play our best 11 players (other than Boyd starting instead of JBG), with Hendrick slotting into the Arfield role. Thus allowing a Defour Marney pairing to start in CM and then Joey to replace Defour after an hour or so.

I like JBG and he'd start for me, but he has just looked a little off the pace since he came back from his injury - now he may have another injury that keeps him out.

No he's probably one of those sensible drivers who appreciates you have to slow down significantly when visibility drops to the level it did last night.

I'm not saying that he isn't, but most people, myself included at times, do a certain speed in the conditions and think that anyone else going faster is an idiot. Who says that the slower driver is the one that is correct about the safe speed to drive in the conditions? The faster driver could actually be driving very safely.

For example, there was a lady doing 40mph on the A1M yesterday, totally unsafe but she probably thought that she was the safest driver on the road and that everyone else was an idiot.

I was just jokingly pointing out that when it comes to driving, everyone thinks that they are the best, safest driver on the road.

This deranged lunatic decided to avoid the A1 and M1 on the way home cutting acoss the Dales to Kendal then racing down M6 M5 and M40 6hrs to get back to Reading but there were slow coaches on the road and fog !

was wet and slipy and why a modern stadium was so difficult for us
to evacuate at the end?
CT do we know the away following?
The Sunderland fans I went with thought we had about 1,800.
Apparently we could have had nearly 5,000 had we chosen to.

They could hear our songs, even one about paedophilia that I never heard
and I was sat in amongst the Burnley fans. They weren't impressed by it,
but I genuinely had to say I never heard it.
These Sunderland fans by the way, were near the half-way line
so it must have been loud. I did admit to the Adam Johnson one, but
they were annoyed about a different one.

I was in corporate with 2 Mackem mates so was sat halfway. Could hear us singing loud from the top but we never heard anything like that.

As for the "could have had nearly 5000" - that's probably true with the 15% allocation rule but we would never have sold that many
