Disjointed and difficult to read. Uninteresting as the game itself. Shite journalism

Just wasted 2 minutes of my life trying to read that shoite.
Just as well he doesn't play football or he'd be heading for relegation from the old 4th Division !

How did we only ha e 2 notable chances? Vokes early, Barnes late and hit the post. That's just off the top of my head and all 3 were excellent opportunities.

The second (of just two!) reader comments sums up how I feel abut that article. It is a poorly constructed, juvenile, ill-conceived, poorly-spelled waste of digital space. Does anyone actually pay to read that guff?!

So much for local papers in the north east.

I don't agree with the Chronicle reporter that it's 1-0 Moyes because "his side showed character and pluck". Character and pluck may be so rare as to need special comment for Sunderland, I suppose.

Some bloke wrote:Be interesting to see to what extent. To see who, then, plays.
But that is then. For now, fair play.
They wanted to win, and went for it.
I believe he's to be appointed as Poet Laureate this year.

When I was much younger I always read Granville Shackleton's report of our game in the Saturday evening 'Sports' and sometimes Alf Thornton on Blackburn games. At the end I'd always got an idea of what had gone on (away games especially). I suppose we can't stand in the way of progress though. I feel guilty of having travelled and paid to watch my favourite football team after that.

Dreadful report. I find it really difficult to comprehend that somebody is being paid to write such rubbish.

I think the fact that he has just over 2,000 tweets as a so called north east footballer reporter just about sums it up. Compare that to Chris Boden who keeps us well informed and has over 72k. Complete numpty.

I think it is to be commended when local newspapers run competitions like this allowing primary school children to have their work published.

A juxtapositinal interpretation of both clubs that lacks complete verisimilitude to reality.

The Guardian too are very negative about the game - "truly appalling tie, anything to relieve the tedium etc". Not how I saw it, a decent tie between 2 evenly matched teams which Burnley definitely shaded and should have won. You sometimes wonder whether reporters actually attend and watch matches!?
