Sam Winnall?
Owls have bid £500k. Sounds a snip but his contract is up in Summer.
Scored all season for Burnsley must be worth a £1m bid. If he doesn't make the grade I would have thought that was recoverable.

His goals/game ratio at his last two clubs disagree with you.

In League 1. Big jump to our level
Re: Sam Winnall?
I'd want rovers to go for him but our strikers are already good enough to be top half championship IMO, only our poo manager prevents that.

Over the last 4/5 years you've had strikers good enough to get promoted from the championship 3/4 times.Saxoman wrote:I'd want rovers to go for him but our strikers are already good enough to be top half championship IMO, only our poo manager prevents that.
Thankfully you've had a succession of really rubbish managers.
Its almost like the club keeps tabs on the rubbish managers for as and when they boot the one they've got.

Burnsley are Championship, now, and he's still bagging.BabylonClaret wrote:In League 1. Big jump to our level
I'm not saying he's good enough. As in the OP I'm saying he must be worth the risk as I'm sure it could be recouped in a sell on.

Re: Sam Winnall?
You would hope he's the sort of player we've at least scouted and come to a conclusion on.
Re: Sam Winnall?
No.
Re: Sam Winnall?
I don't care about his goal to game ratio with Scunthorpe in League Two nor do I care about his League One goalscoring record with Barnsley. He's crap, why would a midtable PL team want him? is he better than what we have? No. Is he a young talent? No he's 25. What would be the point in signing him? Do the development squad need a striker? We may as well go and buy Sordell back if we want a crap development squad striker.minnieclaret wrote:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Winnall

Re: Sam Winnall?
I think comparing him with Marvin Sordell is a tad harsh. Winnall is scoring regularly in a top half Championship side. Sordell ?
