I can not see any two of the bottom 4 getting 24 points from here.

4 wins so far and needing another 6 just to get to 34 points

Another 3 wins for us, plus some draws, and we could be out of sight

Going off previous seasons, 9 more points may be enough to cement ourselves in the Premier League again next season. And I stand by what I said at the start of the season - if we stay up this season, we'll stay up for good. We'll gradually improve and become an established Premier League side and then; who knows...

The thing is that this time round (as opposed to the other two times) we're taking points off those around us and those at the bottom and that's the difference which could be the telling factor in the end. Fantastic flashes of brilliance and unexpected victories against top 4 teams (e.g. Man U in 09/10 and City last time round) aren't what matters most in the end.

Only 2 draws, that is the difference, turning draws (like today) into wins.

I thought exactly the same watching the Premier League table at the end of MOTD - and Burnley were in the top half.

Sweet dreams, all Clarets.
