'Burnleyd' a new word for the Oxford English dictionary...

Post by Mala591 » Sat Jan 14, 2017 6:21 pm

I would like to suggest a new word for the Oxford English dictionary.

'Burnleyd'

Definition: Getting beaten by a technically inferior opponent

The Liverpool / Watford / Everton / Southampton etc managers could then say in their post match interview 'I think we have just been Burnleyd'

:D :D :D

Good idea, except that we aren't technically inferior and in any case it would be 'Burnleyed'. ;)

Don't let Sean Dyche know that you wrote that.

I'm sure there is a definition there, something along the lines of "well prepared, well drilled, exemplary fitness, never say die attitude, structured framework, impressive team work..."

Burnleyed actually means being beaten by a real team.
