Sean's substitutions

Post by Croydon Claret » Sat Jan 14, 2017 6:28 pm

Felt that these were key to the victory today.

He was Pro-Active and played us with 3 strikers when we needed a goal. Then took one off and replaced with a defender when we were in front.

Well done Sean

Tarks should come on immediately we take the lead. Immense at both ends.

Sean has improved markedly with his subs this year, then again he's had more options than before

To be fair, it's hardly rocket science is it? And playing devil's advocate, what the foot is he doing playing Defour on the left?

I agree Defour looked well out of his comfort zone on the left wing, but SD DID get his substitutions right today which in fairness isn't always the case!

This year we are on the front foot with substitutions......today the changes were exceptional...but we never played with three strikers and in that lies the tactical genius..

Barnes was shifted to the left hand side of the midfield ...they used him there as a target...pulling their centre half out of the game. Barnes did a superb job there and suddenly we started to stretch their back 4.. Their centre back Van Dyke? was superb.

"Their centre back Van Dyke? was superb."

Thought he was a bit of a dick myself.

Tarkowski looks a quality player each time he comes on - good control and awareness for a big lad
