Lowton

Post by Inchy » Sat Jan 14, 2017 7:44 pm

Thought he was outstanding today. Got forward well and very solid at the back.
Didn't cross many in but that was due to lack of opportunity

Best I have seen him play this season

Just shows how well Dyches coaching improves players. Like Hendrick he just gets better.

I think his performance today deserves a thread.

I will admit I was not a big fan... but he is certainly winning me round. As a unit our back 4 (or 5 if you count Heaton) are easily the best I seen... (that is from the early 70s). He is possibly the least naturally confident of the bunch, but now he has found his feet he is right up there with them.

I think Flanagan breathing down his neck has really helped him up his game, he's looked a complete different player to the one near the start of the season.

Yes. Noticeably the last matches have seen a significant improvement in his performances. I have to say that he has some lovely touches that people have seemingly ignored. I know at times he frustrates, but I've thought for a few weeks since his return to the team that his performances were deserving of more credit than what he has received.

Well done OP.

I have slagged him Off a few times. I didn't think he was up to it and didn't see much chance of improving. Starting to see how wrong I was

I've a slightly different view.
I thought Lowton was poor throughout the first half. He failed to keep touch tight to Tadic, gave him far too much space which resulted in Saints best chance of the half which again came from the left.
Second half he was fair more measured, though still not in Ward's class.

I haven't seen anything from him that suggests he shouldn't be the first name on the team sheet.
