Film Soundtrack LPs

Post by Zom Zom » Sun Jan 15, 2017 7:36 pm

Never been a big fan, especially as a lot seem to be a mish mash of various old hits etc, but the first one I bought was Back to the Future - which I still listen to occasionally (Earth Angel is a favourite of mine).

However, the two Kill Bill soundracks are essential listening, the first especially.

Anyone else have any favourites they'd like to share? Any kind, musical, sci-fi, anything?

Platoon. Cracking soundtrack. And because they also provide a soundtrack to my uni days, Trainspotting, Human Traffic and Lock, Stock & Two smoking barrels.

Pulp Fiction was probably the first one I purchased and it is amazing.

From the mental guitar instrumental Misirlou to Al Green and even the excellent 'Girl, you'll be a woman soon', it's just timeless to me.

Good Morning Vietnam, some good old songs interspersed with clips from the film.

Tron Legacy - by Daft Punk, some if it is actually quite good to listen too.

Pulp Fiction & Blues Brothers, same reasons as Vietnam.

'Blade Runner OST' by Vangelis.

'Last of the Mohicans' by Randy Edelman and Trevor Jones.

'American Beauty' by Thomas Newman.

All excellent.

Also there's no soundtrack to the Wicker man I don't think but if you go on Spotify there's a ton of covers of the songs which are interesting

Bit highbrow for Padiham.
Some fantastic music in Blackhawk Down. Also the Sergio Leone man with no name trilogy.
