Message Board loading very slowly

I'm having problems using the message board at the moment.

The majority of the board loads very quickly but it is seemingly taking ages to load the banner advert at the top. Until it loads I cannot click anything. It's not quite at Clarets Mad levels of slow but it's certainly taking a lot longer than it used to.

It is running very slowly for me too. I have to click on links several times before anything loads. Was thinking it was just my laptop but not so sure now. Will check on the phone.

Yep, and me.

Once I enable adblock again, I have no problems.

All working fine again for me, although I think the issues may well have been PC related rather than messageboard inmy case.

Yep- Ive had a "delay" problem over the past week or so- solely on the "Bee Hole End" home page. Just sticks for c 5 seconds or so whilst the header ad loads. I have v fast broadband and newish, decent spec, PC so I don't think its a problem at my end.
It doesn't seem to be all the ads that have this effect. It's not yet sufficiently bad to reinstate adblock on this domain but a bit of a pest.

It's the 'external' ads (ie. the ones from myswitchads.com) causing the issue - which Adblock solves by blocking them.
The 'local' ads (Burnley Tyre and Battery, PendleView etc) load fine - with or without Adblock.

Thanks for the info. I've contacted switchads to see if there is anything that can be done. Their FAQ says :

We load our ads via asynchronous Iframe tags, which means that our ads will load separately to your page content.

Which should mean that it doesn't affect our pages, it should just be the ad content that is blank. I take it that's not what people are experiencing.

For me, when you go to BeeHoleEnd home page, there is a short delay (few seconds) whilst some ads load. During that time, you cant scroll the screen down to get to the latest posts or click on any item (so basically a freeze).
It's not all ads by any means & only lasts a second or two but slightly annoying (though not for me bad enough to activate Adblock on this site).
