Pope and Joey

Post by Frenchclaret » Wed Jan 18, 2017 2:39 pm

No, not a thread on Joey's religious conversion!
I have just watched the goalcam, on Player, of Pope's save from the free-kick in the dying minutes. It appeared that the only one to congratulate him was Joey. It is the sort of gesture that is needed when young players are involved - so well done Joey for setting an example.

I suspect it was Joey's atonement for giving a silly free kick away on the edge of the box, necessitating Pope making the save. Joey was demonstrating taking responsibility for your f*ck-ups.

As MarkGreen mentioned, a couple of other players made their way over to him but to be fair they were concentrating on seeing the game out :)
