Brian Miller.

Would have been 80 today.

Club legend. If I had my way, any new stand built at the Turf would bear his name.

I totally agree. My favourite player of the greats. One club man from his youth. Very approachable and friendly. Legend.

You've stolen my thunder Lord Beamish - article is part written to be published today.

As for a stand - Brian's wife Mary said, after he'd passed away, that he would not have liked anything like that (stand, memorial etc.). She said he'd have preferred to be remembered with something like a Brian Miller Scholarship for a young player.

That's Brian Miller. Humble and grounded, to the last.

I know at least one of his grandsons who think he should have a lasting memorial at the ground or Club.

So is there by now a scholarship in his name, or not?

I remember him being on Saint and Greavsie before the Orient game, Burnley were never on telly back then so it was unusual. He talks here a couple of minutes in what the club meant to him.

Cheers, Notts.
Hadn't seen that video before.

Can't imagine there's a Claret anywhere who wouldn't want some sort of permanent reminder of Brian.

Wish he was here to say our success today. An absolutely pivotal figure in the club's history. He kept us in the league more than anybody else. The way he maintained his composure before and during the Orient game took the pressure off the players and helped us to win the game. I know Dave is very proud of his dad, we all are.

Also should have been the start of the Miller Dynasty had David been half the player his Dad was, or Chris or Paul Scott half the player their Dad, (Derick was) but unfortunately they weren't good enough to tie Grandad Brian's bootlaces.

Agree with the sentiment Lord Beamish, but if it wasn't the gesture he'd have liked then fair enough.
Definately a huge name within Clarets history.

Now we are minted surely a few statues along Harry Potts Way and in the Memorial Garden are warranted, if only to remind visitors of the history and stature of the club. Who should be included?
