Ross McCormack

Post by Bordeauxclaret » Sat Jan 21, 2017 9:47 pm

Left out by Bruce today. Bruce had this to say

"In my opinion, he’s not fit enough to play unless his attitude and record of missing training improves.

If he keeps missing training like he does – then that will be the situation.

He has just not turned up. The latest excuse was that his gates had stuck but he couldn’t jump over a fence that was four feet six inches high.

There has been too much indiscipline at this club for way too long.

Not in 20 years of management have I gone down this road of publicly shaming a player but I have to make a stand because I won’t put up with it. Not on my watch."

Bruce turned up at his house and jumped the fence himself.

Had too much money, won't play at a higher level now and can't be arsed. Sad indictment of modern football.

I'm not sure many people would get away with such an excuse.

Seem to recall Steve Bruce making very similar comments about Cameron Stewart when he returned to Hull from his loan with us.

Did he get stuck behind a fence as well?

Burst out laughing at the image of bruce jumping his fence. Good on him. The fans deserve better than some no mark championship striker taking the proverbial out of them. Good on Bruce. Its he who would be sacked if results went against them. Villa have been a shambles for a few years. Bruce will sort it though.

Overweight, lazy Championship journeyman who was never good enough for Fulham.

Aye. Ross is so dirt poor, he couldn't have paid for a cab into training. And his pay-as-you-go phone was out of credit, so he couldn't call a mate for a lift.

Reminds me of Steven Fletcher a bit, these are decent players who'll keep getting better if they work hard at it, but why bother when you're financially secure at 30.

Its human nature more than anything, if you have to shift your arse to have some quality of life then you do, if you don't then you get lazy.

The problem is the game itself more than the likes of McCormack

Really ?

Not advocating at all his attitude at Villa - shocking...he looks unfit and overweight (and Steve Bruce should know exactly what that looks like !)

He has been a very good goalscorer in Championship though and has great spells for Cardiff, Leeds and Fulham.

The money Villa paid for him was a bit ridiculous given his age - but that's not his fault.

There is always 2 sides to the story and I am pretty sure Bruce will have his own agenda for exposing this incident - all seems a bit petty, unfair and one sided to me. Bruce knows that coming out with this story will turn the Villa fans against the player and effectively end his days there - not exactly looking after the club though is it ? Villa will not recoup the money they paid for him now - so why not keep the whole issue in house and just sell him ?

Personally I don't like Bruce - had some personal experience of him through my work when he was at United and found him obnoxious, arrogant and very greedy. Subsequently no surprise to me the lack of loyalty he has shown leaving a number of clubs to enhance his managerial career and his bank balance.

Plus the guy wrote a series of very very sh-ite novels about 10 or 15 years ago about Steve Barnes, the manager of fictional club Leddersfield Town who solves crimes in his spare time ! The reviews are hilarious - very strange !
