Do Burnley have a wage cap?

Post by Inchy » Wed Jan 25, 2017 11:15 am

I have no idea what our players earn but I have an idea of what other teams players earn (e.g Rooney) because its all over the media (although it could be b*llocks).

Does anyone know if we have a wage cap? Does anyone know what it is?

I have no idea but Il hazard a guess and say it will be around 30k a week. If we stay up I would hope that would be upped to nearer to 50k.

I've heard that some are on approx £35k a week.

I'd guess we would push the boat out to £40-50k next season, but for that money I'd expect better quality players and to not go down the route of paying that to bang average players in desperation like it seems some clubs do.

I'm sure that there will be significant bonuses paid out to negate our meagre weekly wages when/if we stay up. If it was half a million each for instance, then that is peanuts in terms of the money brought in for staying up.

The higher in the league, the more funds for the club....and players, no doubt.
