Post by rejected » Thu Jan 26, 2017 10:12 pm

Thought I'd say hello!! Been a mad busy week in the real job so haven't been on much, didn't want you all to think I'd disappeared!!

Shame we still have Moyes, are about to lose our best full back, have bought Lescott, linked with Nedum Onouha and Big Vic is out for 3 months. Been a great week!!

On the plus side there must be some Championship grounds you haven't yet ticked! So something to look forward to! ;)

Hull seem to have thrown the towel in so you only need to stay above two teams now, Can Jermain do it?

Lescott , I didn't know that! :-/. Probably due to me watching the Brady and Snodgrass situation over the last couple of days so closely . This might not be a popular view with a Mackem by the way but sometimes u gotta take 1 step back to take 2 forwards . I personally think Moyes will get it right . He's a good manager with no room to manoeuvre regarding changing his playing staff . It's ownership you boys want to be venting at ? P.s welcome back mate, bit of a lurker and don't post often but have enjoyed reading your topics and might give your book a go .

Hull have just deservedly won against Man U. Swansea beat Liverpool at Arfield. Sunderland...managed a 0-0 draw against us at home (away for us!), sandwiched by comprehensive victories for us. Let's not pretend, Rejected knows it, Sunderland are down.

UTC!

Rejected, I have a personal question for you. Apparently, the greatest concentration of people with my surname (Vipond), live in Sunderland. Do you know anybody with this strange name? Just wondering.

Sadly not no, been to them all. Done 108 grounds watching Sunderland so none of them are new. HOWEVER, living in Yorkshire there are some cracking away days to be had!! :-)

I knew a Davey Vipond who was from up that neck of the woods. He was an electrician who worked in the Oil & Gas business in the Middle East.

You must be mistaken there duffer, it finished 1-1. Well, according to mourinho anyway. He only saw two goals as the first didn't count, it wasn't a penalty! The unbeaten run continues!!

What a c0ck!!

Thanks guys!! When you have a bizarre family name like I do, you sometimes wonder if there is another soul in the world with it. While perusing the web a few years ago, I came across a certain John Vipond who was with the Teeside police who acted as an intermediary during the miners' strike during Thatcher's reign. I thought, "That's pretty neat". And I know that during my search for my family roots, when I went to Newcastle and found how many Viponds there were in the phone book that I was on to something. (Sorry about that rejected. I know how sore you Black Cats are when it comes to dealing with the Toon.)

And there was a Shaun Vipond who played for that famous non-league side, Blyth Spartans, a few years ago. He was born in Hexham.
