That would certainly be on a par with Ian Wright and Gazza, with a similar buzz to the former. We are, of course, a different animal now and can`t see him fitting into a Dyche framework. A nice idea though!

I always had Lampard down as a hard working, intelligent and talented player. I think he would fit in well and would certainly have enough still to offer for at least the remainder of the season.

Brighton and Crystal Palace joint favourites Burnley not even among the other 20 or so other clubs quoted.

We certainly have heard it here first. :o

Matches this story. Interested in Premier League but doesn't want to be in a relegation battle. Sounds a good match for us then.

Sounds to me like he wants a top 6 side where he can come on for the last ten minutes and claim some of the accolades for their success.

You are clearly forgetting we have omelettes.

I can't imagine Lampard would be bothered about money at this stage of his career. Can't see us being in for him but would be fantastic if we were.

If Frank Lampard has coaching/managing ambitions a spell with Burnley, learning from Sean Dyche, is the best thing he can do.

I'd charge him to play for us - well set off what he would get from being around the squad against what we'd need to pay him to be part of the squad. On that basis, yes, we can afford him.

But, do we need him if we've already got Joey Barton in this (coaching/managing learning) role?

Let's hope the eggs for the omelettes aren't all in 1 basket. :)

I've a feeling this is likely, he is a good fit to replace Defour for 15 mins a match. Bet placed at 14/1.

Dear me.

We're beginning to sound like Rovers fans on about Ronaldhino and Beckham.

If Lampard signs for us, I'll paint my willy in claret and blue stripes and wave it around in Blackburn town centre.

I'd rather have Paul Scholes, especially now he can speak.

Think he'd be ok on a deal till summer. Can't see it happening but you never know.

The thought around him getting exposure to dyche isn't a bad one. He could do much worse than spending time with him.

Frank might like dunking ginger nuts in his brew. Heard he's not keen on omelette.

Never say never. Can you imagine what this message board would have been like when rumours of Ian Wright was going to sign for Burnley surfaced. There would have been a few people doing things they didn't expect to be doing. So be be careful on what you say.
