Our Turf Moor Heroes - Your Views

Post by ClaretTony » Sat Jan 28, 2017 6:19 pm

Did anyone go and have a look at the new photofraphs on the Bob Lord Stand today?

If so, what did you think?

(The photo boards, not the walls please).

I didn't see them all but the ones I saw near our turnstiles by the club shop looked brilliant - a great addition. Whether it's possible / practical I don't know, but some lighting above each would be good, particularly for a night match.

Looking forward to seeing the next generation adding around the ground.

Jimmy Mac seemed to be grabbing the most attention (what a surprise) when I walked down and I noticed a lot of Bristol City fans looking at the older ones.

Using lighting is not something we'd considered but it is worth noting and seeing whether it is feasible.

I thought they looked great. Also think the idea of lighting is worth considering.

They look really good, a touch of class. I will look again on Tuesday night to see if they need lighting.

I think they're a superb addition to the ground and look very well made. Looking forward to the next phase as the players head into my era.

It was chucking it down when we went past (apologies if I missed the obvious) but I did think a big name plaque would have helped as I was struggling with naming who was 1914 and who was 1920's, away fans and younger will not even be able to google who they are. I did think they looked superb quality and look forward to seeing them when it is not chucking it down.

Loved them, and so did my dad who enjoyed pointing out the players to me and my brother.

They do seem a bit vulnerable though? Worried some psycho Blackburn fans might vandalism them?

There's a plaque to the left of the pics with name and a little biography of the player

Thought they looked fantastic, well done to all concerned. Looking forward to the next lot going up (including players I've actually seen playing!).

Whatever you do, don't waste a minute typing WHO was responsible will you?
It may well be written somewhere, but if it's not a secret, why not just add it to the end of your statement?

Give yourselves a bag pat on the back, you deserve it but also give the club some credit too.

The club had no involvement in the project other than Adam Riding doing the design for us, and of course supporting it, which, of course, I'd previously confirmed.

Read the article - but I was just pointing out that the project had not been carried out by the club.

Tony - For those who don't know the background to the project it might be useful to give a short summary of how it came about or put a link up to where that info can be found.

Already have, not sure what else I can do. There has been a lot of work gone in by just a small number of people on this. I fully recognised those involved in the project last week. I can't really do any more.

Article was linked on initial thread and is on the main site but link is
http://www.uptheclarets.com/our-turf-mo ... s-launches

I started this thread asking for people's views on it - I just corrected one poster who thought the club had done it, nothing more, nothing less.

They're great!

Lighting would be even better

Everyone will have players they think should be included

Mine is Jimmy Robson - 100 goals for the Clarets - First Burnley Goal at Wembley in the FA Cup Final

They are excellent. Very professional. Well done to all involved. It was dark when I left but you could still them under the floodlights. Cracking job. No need for extra lighting in my opinion. Any plans for further additions?
