Re: Aidan O'Neill
If we have signed Westwood then a loan move is a very good idea for him.

Re: Aidan O'Neill
Would rather have kept him for back-up and bleed him in to the side for the last 15/20 mins of a game.

Become fairly apparent that he's not going to be considered for PL matches at least.Right_winger wrote:Would rather have kept him for back-up and bleed him in to the side for the last 15/20 mins of a game.

He needs football. He doesn't need a relegation battle.

Well that's exactly what he will be getting at Oldham.minnieclaret wrote:He needs football. He doesn't need a relegation battle.
Re: Aidan O'Neill
Why can't he learn from being in a relegation battle?

Re: Aidan O'Neill
I would argue that being in a relegation battle at Oldham would be a fantastic experience for him.
Jay Rodriguez always mentions his time at Stirling as big for his development, likewise Lafferty at Darlington.

He'll learn a damn sight more playing first-team football than he will in a development squad.minnieclaret wrote:He needs football. He doesn't need a relegation battle.

Re: Aidan O'Neill
Perhaps, but it's a big ask for a lad straight out of youth football, could go either way.jedi_master wrote:I would argue that being in a relegation battle at Oldham would be a fantastic experience for him.

Re: Aidan O'Neill
3 wins from 4 since he joined. Not sure if he's played every game?
Oldham now 3 pts clear of relegation.
Gwan lad!

Re: Aidan O'Neill
He's played the full 90 in the four games he's been involved in since he signed on loan. No goals but a couple of assists. Their fans rate him.

Re: Aidan O'Neill
That's some turnaround for the team and sounds like he's been a big part of that. Hope he keeps his head down and works hard, next season a championship team might make use of him?
Re: Aidan O'Neill
At 19/20 I'd be hoping he'd start and make a breakthrough for us, rather than another spell on loan, but it worked for JayRod. It obviously depends on his development, I think he needs to bulk out a bit but if he's holding his own in a tough league like he is then he's doing something right.Claretmatt4 wrote:That's some turnaround for the team and sounds like he's been a big part of that. Management team there rate him to chuck him in straight away and to play 4 x 90+ minutes show he is upto it. Best prospect we have.
