A tribute to Dean Marney - latest flag
Some of you may have seen some of the flags we have created in the past. Long term aim is to get a few hung up in the CFS. Maybe next season.
This is the latest creation. Unfortunately wont have it in time for tomorrows game but will have it for Chelsea. Hopefully Marney himself sees (and likes) it!

Like that one CC, although not sure about the split badge as it looks like a boro badge on the right and the Spurs style bird at the top.

I know, did think about the bird after it went to print. Possibly should have gone with a keep the faith fist or just a full crest. Just wanted somethinga little different and creative!Goobs wrote:Like that one CC, although not sure about the split badge as it looks like a boro badge on the right and the Spurs style bird at the top.

It's excellent but the dot on top of the 'i' in fight looks like a full stop between 'gotta' and 'fight'.

I like your enthusiasm for the Cricket Field Stand cricketfieldclarets ...[with help from a few others]..you have done a good job there, raising it's profile in a number of ways..that will have taken a lot of effort, well done.
It would be nice to imagine in a season or two that the whole CFS is ours again, covered with Burnley flags/banners and stuff..[ not blocking anyone's view] and that we find another space for away fans in Turf Moor, so as to restore/improve our territorial advantage at home, which can of course be valuable....we could do with a very noisy full BFC stand behind that goal...logistically not impossible I imagine.

CFC, if you don't mind me asking; how big is that flag and what did it cost?

Re: A tribute to Dean Marney - latest flag
I reate the design myself then my mate who is a graphic designer does the rest then we get them printed. Depends from flag to flag, size etc but this is smaller than usual at 5x3 and was £60. Looking at doing it properly but busy with the day job.Corky wrote:CFC, if you don't mind me asking; how big is that flag and what did it cost?

Re: A tribute to Dean Marney - latest flag
Should set up a kickstarter or something and get a big fund going for some huge flags to roll out in the CFS or flags on poles
I remember the club stating we could aslong as the poles were plastic

Hey CFC, you planning any "fundraisers" to fund these flags? Buckets? Raffles etc...
Club help?
If we can get anywhere near what the kop looks like, it'll be proper smart, but this sort of thing costs money.

They'd look great up in the inside of the JMU JHU on the sides. Be nice to have some remembering our league wins.

Love it!
* I think the dot on top of the 'i' looks like a full stop though, so would remove or space the lines out a bit.
Great effort!!

Re: A tribute to Dean Marney - latest flag
Looks like the scousers get away with taking sticks in to hold their flags aloft, I wonder if supporters of less pampered football clubs are allowed to get away with that sort of thing~?

How about removing the dots completely, as they are the only letters in lower case???Rowls wrote:It's excellent but the dot on top of the 'i' in fight looks like a full stop between 'gotta' and 'fight'.
Make the i a capital I, as it would both look and read better.
Just a thought like... but everyone's a critic, right?
Loving it BTW.

Loving the flags and any tribute to dean marney is fine with me, great effort. I thought the Watford end opposite looked good yesterday just before kick off.

Re: A tribute to Dean Marney - latest flag

This one set me back over £200. The quality is very good. All sewn material and thicker lettering / badge.
Lettering on the bottom of the crest has changed from the Latin wording to Burnley Football Club. I think the Latin job only lasted a few seasons.

I am going to crack on with this soon then. Would want input and suggestions from all who contribute - needs to be a collective effort. Got plenty of good ideas. Just need to hope the club can buy into it and replicate something similar to that at Anfield. They have it there, Boro, Palace and all over Germany and Europe.

I think at Liverpool the club own the flags not the supporters and bring them out before the game.

MK93 - Great effort, that. Love the beard!
Your second attempt is better than the first also because the club badge is fully visible.
One small negative point, however: the Vikings did NOT in fact have horns on their helmets.

Ah man, I wasn't sure.
I'll get something proper done later on that's historically accurate.

Obviously it all needs 'agreeing' with the club, what is possible and what isn't etc.cricketfieldclarets wrote:I am going to crack on with this soon then. But after that, I don't think it'd take long to get a decent level of funding in place, whether that be through KickStarter or similar, or simply a bucket/collection tin on the kiosks clearly indicating what it's for. The key to it will be engaging people, and keeping them engaged, giving them the chance to have an input and be part of something. You would need a central committee/reps/team - I'd throw my hat in.
