According to Ian Wright, he could be.

I'd love for Arsenal to drop down into 8th for years like Liverpool have done. Man doesn't get the credit he deserves.

I think Southgate took that job whilst he waited for the Arsenal one.

Arenal fans these days are not of the type 40 plus years ago theyre lets say a cosmopolitan collection of glory hunters in the south like man utd in the north imo.majority of spurs fans of which wenger as mentioned are mainly from the tottenham area city fans in the main from manchester suburbs they have an affinity with their clubs.....though i feel man city will go the way of man u and arsensal with the majority being plastics outnumbering the diehards all with a perverse sence of entitlement!

Spurs could go that way. Maybe west ham. The modern fan in general (in england at least) is embarasing.

We have a few berks that are always on their phone filming.
You would think they realise there are plenty of proper cameras picking everything up.

Not sure what you mean by your comments, but as you can see from extracts from the article below, I've hardly sensationalised the story.FactualFrank wrote:"Wenger leaving Arsenal"

"I get the impression that that's it," ex-Arsenal striker Wright told BBC Radio 5 live...... I feel that he will go at the end of the season.
Wright says he spoke with Wenger on Thursday night.
"He actually mentioned that he is coming to the end. I have never heard him say that before," said the 53-year-old.

It's incredible how far inferior our top teams are to the best of Europe. I rate Wenger and the huge impact he's had on the english game.
But while they've been successful getting there, he's fallen well short in European competition.

Re: Wenger leaving Arsenal
doubt he'll survive tonight
VERY VERY lucky it was only 5-1, a fair reflection would have been 8 or 9
Bayern 500 more passes than Arsenal

Arsenal fans on BBC 5live right now are in mutinous mood.

What an abysmal performance. He's lost that dressing room.
I've enjoyed watching them over the years but be honest, how many players has he actually improved?
Snaffled all that young British talent and none of them have come on at all.

Re: Wenger leaving Arsenal
Their centre is so weak. The days they won titles, and the year they went unbeaten they were solid in the centre. They havent had that since Gilberto / Vieira.
For all the flair under wengers succesful sides, their defence from his early days to the invincibles was built around the likes of Campbell, Adams, Bould, Keown, Toure, protected by a solid midfield. They dont have that any more. They are weak throughout. Koscielny aside.
They spend far too much money on quantity over quality. If they had a reliable defence they could have took the game to Bayern. But they dont. And Cech on the bench was a joke!

Re: Wenger leaving Arsenal
Cech is crap these days, Ospina is the CL goalkeeper and kept them in the game at PSG. Rightly deserved to start. Why he moved Ox out wide from central midfield, I have no idea. Koscielny is overrated too, never a world class central defender (and captain). Weak as p*ss and positionally allover the place. Arsenals squad just isn't very good, lack of spending the big bucks to attract the big names and top quality has left them with a squad of average players like Ox, Walcott, Perez, Giroud, Xhaka, Coquelin, Mustafi... I could go on. I like Arsene, he's done great things but Arsenal have a problem from the very top at boardroom level all the way down to the group of players.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Their centre is so weak. Re: Wenger leaving Arsenal
Shame it's come to this for Arsene, he'll probably ride it out though.
One thing I did find amusing last night was the way Arsenal set up. Some of their fans are sooo tedious, banging on about playing the way they do, and the way the likes of Burnley park the bus or go direct as if it's against the rules.
Then they come up against a side where they're on the wrong end of a huge gulf in class, and what do they do? Try and stick 10 men behind the ball and hit it early and long to Sanchez whenever they can. The only problem is, a little bit of fight, organisation and 'grit' is required to make that work.
Pop up to Gawthorpe Arsene, and we'll show you how it's done properly.

Re: Wenger leaving Arsenal
How many players have actually improved while being at Arsenal lately?
Sanchez was a good player when he arrived and had continued. Ozil was a good player but seems to disappear for games at a time.
They'll go on a good run towards the end of the season and he'll probably ride it out again.
Then they'll repeat the whole thing next season.

Re: Wenger leaving Arsenal
A team of losers, Sanchez apart.
I said 10 years ago when Fergie ruled the roost. Arsenal and Man U were shopping in the same window, both great at spotting talent, but once identified Fergie would ask, yes I know he has talent, but is he a winner. Much as Napoleon said about his generals, yes I know he's good but is he lucky. No matter how talented they were, if they weren't winners Fergie wouldn't buy. Wenger would.
Take a look at the players he inherited and then added to. Adams, Bould, Keown Wright. Bergkamp, Henri they were all winners who when times were hard would dig deep and find something extra. They all had courage and focus. This lot are rabbits in comparison.
No manager could take over from Wenger, and turn those same players into winners, losing is in their DNA.
Arsenal need a new manager to build a whole new squad, a new style and a new system. It's going to take at least 3 years if they're lucky, which means 3 years of mid table mediocrity. Do their fans, or board, have the patience to give a new man that amount of time, who knows, but without it they're screwed.
