We had some real bogey players in the lower leagues. Some names that were great at that level. Some that werent. Loads that seemed to either score, play well or both!

Jamie Cureton
Kurt Nogan
Bob taylor (x2)
Jon Macken

Fairly recent but I've always hated Knockaert playing against us.

Helguson seemed to be a player that always looked like tearing us apart when he was at Watford .... And then again he scored for Pompey.
Another odd one from me was Jamal Campbell-Rice haha.

Ronnie Jepson. Always seemed to score against us. I went to Bury in 96 with a mate, saw his name on the teamsheet and said if Bury score, it will be him. Cue a 1-0 defeat, with the inevitable scorer.

Good list!
Goater was the first one that popped into my mind.
I would probably add Jason Roberts to the list. Cureton and Roberts was an awesome front pairing for Bristol Rovers in Division 2 and Roberts also got goals against us for the Baggies too.
I imagine if you asked the same question to opposition supporters who were in the same division at the time I think that they would have Glen Little on the list.

Has to be Nugent from modern era I would say. Scored against us repeatedly for Preston, Portsmouth and Leicester I think.
Alexander too but that goes without saying as for the period between about 1999 and 2009 (i.e, until they became a total irrelevance to both us and the wider footballing community) Preston used to get 67 penalties a game against us. Grezza gobbled those up.

Shaun Goater is the big one.
Graham Kavanagh. Couldn't stand the bloke.
Andy Hassenthaler. Another odious individual.
Pretty much any player from that Preston side that won promotion with us, up until the mid 2000's. Appleton, Murdoch, Alexander, Macken, Basham..

How many times did George Best grace the Turf?
You'd have thought he'd have given us the run around, but can't remember him having
much joy against us. He played in the game where Frank Casper smacked Francis Burns
In the mush in 1967 (I think) and we won 2-1.

Already picked this one only to find it mid thread. When playing for Wigan too, seemed like he was on steroids every time. Remember an eventful trip to Springfield Park, with a certain Mr Shackleton strolling around before hand and Mr Lee tearing us a new one as we went down something like 3-0. Heady days!
