Your Line Up vs Lincoln

Post by UpTheClaretsFCBK » Fri Feb 17, 2017 7:13 pm

I'd go with:

Pope
Lowton
Keane
Mee
Flanagan
Gudmundsson
Barton
Tarkowski
Westwood
Boyd
Gray

Subs:
Defour (not sure if fit)
Barnes
Vokes
Arfield
Ward
Heaton
Long

That should see us over the line.

I expect it to be pretty similar to last time except Westwood in for Defour, if Tarkowski is at centre half then a swap to 4-4-2 with Barnes or Gray partnering Vokes.

Heaton
darikwa keane mee flanagan
tarkowski
jbg barton westwood arfield
vokes

that risks all of our cm and cb options but weve no real alternative. westwood needs games, barton might not have many left, tarkowski and arfield need games, heaton needs to come in now if we want to use him in later rounds.

dont risk ward, no problem dropping him later in the competition

dont risk 2 strikers when we only have 3.

I think that he won't risk Joseph before the Hull game, so Tarka in front of the back four to do a job on their Desperate Dan.

If Bartons hearing is after the Hull game I agree. He is already back to fitness clearly.

Be a shame if Barton is rested. It's the kind of game he's perfect for.

Pope
Lowton Tarkowski. Mee Ward
Arfield. Westwood. Barton. JBG.
Vokes. Gray

I don't think we should take any risks tomorrow. We have a realistic chance of getting to the semis at least, and maybe even winning the thing. We may never have a better chance, especially with the likes of City and Spurs having tricky looking away games.

Same as Bleedingclaret, except Ward for Flanagan.

Pope
Darikwa Tarkowski Mee Flanagan
JBG Westwood Barton Arfield
Agyei Vokes

Wouldn't want to risk Gray and I would like to see how Tarkowski and Mee work together since that's likely to be our centre back pairing next season. I don't think playing Agyei would be disrespectful, he's been playing and scoring at a higher level than Lincoln this season, if it isn't working then you can always bring on Gray or Barnes.

Just heard SD saying clubs in the pre- Madona league have to consider the business side of football when playing in the fa cup.

In the early rounds I agree but when only 3 rounds from Wembley and in our position?

I deduce from what he says that he will put out a weakened side, I do hope not.

It makes sense playing some of the fringe players today.

Pope

Darikwa (not a fan but hey ho!) Keane Tarkowski Flanagan (should be at right-back but he won`t be)

Arfield Barton Westwood (they`ll just as easily get injured in training) Gudmundsson

Gray Vokes

Whether to choose Gray is not an easy decision to make, as Barnes/Vokes can replace each other, but we don't have anybody like-for-like to cover Gray if he was to pick up a knock. I think I'd start Gray but hope we can put the game to bed early on, and bring him off. Barton is a similar one, start Westwood and Barton in the middle, with the plan to bring Barton off after an hour if the game looks won. It's certainly risky though and it wouldn't surprise me if Dyche opts to start Gray and/or Barton on the bench.
