What if Andre had been a typical prem player and taken a tumble when pulled back by Raggett when he was put through in the second half? A little shirt tug checked his run and allowed the keeper to get to the ball first....
How these little things can change the course of a game...and history.
Small margins.

Yellow card for them and a free kick sent into the upper tier of the jm.

Think it would have been a red, but there was only 5 mins left plus injury time so Andre probably did the right thing by trying to go through and score. Thought the ref should have booked their player afterwards though

He played on to see if there was an advantage, when there wasnt one he should have brought the play back and given us a free kick. Just one of the many decisions he got horribly wrong yesterday.

The problem though Rik is that it slowed him enough so they could get a block in. should have gone down.

Would have been a red i would have thought. Then the guy who went on to get the goal would have been off. Certainly should have been booked though. A costly bit of honesty in hindsight.

What you saying is he should have cheated then, didnt we have enough of Barton play acting and cheating without having another do it

Sorry, but he'd at least two nailed on chances that should have buried by then.
Andre had an awful game.
If he'd had to have resorted to cheating against a 5th division player...Well, it would have just added to the embarrassment.
We had enough of that yesterday.

Isnt pulling a player back when he has a clean run on goal classed as cheating though?? The ref saw it and played advantage...an exceptionally poor one as it turned out. The tug did just enough to prevent Gray getting to the ball first. By going down he highlights it and stops the ref playing advantage and he has to deal with it. It wouldnt be cheating...he was fouled.

Red cards are for denying a clear goal scoring opportunity so in Andre's case it would have to be pretty much an open goal else my money would be firmly on him messing it up like he does the rest of the time

It was an opportunity though..even though we know the likely outcome with the way Gray is playing.

Anyway from the replays I saw Gray was almost pulling the guys shirt if his back so six of one half a dozen of another.....basically ...cheating.

Like the three chances he 'messed up' against Sunderland.
If he was better player then he wouldn't be at Burnley.

So you think a player rumoured to be worth 15 million and playing at a club in the comfy bit of the prem shouldnt be bagging some of those chances?
He'a had misses that I could have scored and those who know me, know how my shots usually go.

I will admit he can kick the ball hard and by the law of averages he sometimes gets it on target and it goes in

Remember that save that Heaton made against United - or that tackle that clearance made on the line or when Joey marked in that area.
That doesn't affect what happens afterwards... if a player misses chances then you have to talk about that...... Not the fact he played against one of the worst sides we have played in ages and dis his job once ....
He was great last season but seems he has put a lot of pressure on himself. The start of his playing days here he was running the channels and fighting to get the ball to teammates and assisting some quality goals...... He now seems to want to just get his head down and run at defenders.

I'm in no way Gray's biggest fan. In fact I agree with many of the criticisms that have been made - particularly his first touch. What I am saying is that if he could do all the things many seem to expect him to do with ease then he wouldn't be at Burnley.
Do you not think that he must be aware of his shortcomings and is trying to improve?
There was a reason that he was playing non league until recently...
