BFC Survey
BFC Survey
Don't normally bother with them but thought I'd do this. Presumed it was about football or matchday experiences. I have to answer questions about whether I'm undergoing gender re assignment surgery WTF. Cant be bothered with it. Maybe they are planning on the next mascots being transsexuals so they don't feel excluded. It's gone beyond silly.

Seemed like some sort of box-ticking activity.
Can't see how the club can use the information they collected

I'm with you here Blackrod, I cant be bothered with gender reassignment surgery either. Although at 43 it could be my last chance to be a mascot.Blackrod wrote:Don't normally bother with them but thought I'd do this. Presumed it was about football or matchday experiences. When you see some of the flabby tits, squeezed into tight replica shirts designed for sportsmen to wear, on some of the male fans of football at matches and around town, it wouldn't be too difficult to be mistaken that lots of Gender Reassignment work is already in process.

Re: BFC Survey
. is afraid that this is the way all surveys are going nowadays. He knows it will have no impact on this particular survey but it's becoming commonplace in demographics.
He thinks most of the demographic questions are a bit pointless unless the club are asking questions like the 'how can we attract more Asians to the Turf?' question discussed on here a while back. That way, they could use the stats from the survey to their advantage. Eg. 90% of those who responded from an Asian background said they would come to more games if...

Re: BFC Survey
It's two actually - female at birth to male and then male at birth to female. What if I went male to female, made a mistake and was going back again. There's no question or answer box to tick and I would feel excluded.

Though I guess you wrote this a little tongue in cheek, you arent that far from a legitimate possibility.Blackrod wrote:Maybe they are planning on the next mascots being transsexuals so they don't feel excluded. It's gone beyond silly.
At my nieces primary school (which is local) there is a young boy who is now identifying as a female. There was another young boy there who identified as female and regularly visits the turf as we see the family before games all the time.
Also apparently quite a few kids who are in a similar position in other local schools, the actual information they are gatheing could be closer to home for decent info than you give it credit for.

Re: BFC Survey
The survey had nothing whatsoever to do with supporting Burnley FC. All it will reveal is the age profile, religion, sexual orientation etc of those who sometimes gather at Turf Moor. A complete waste of time.

Re: BFC Survey
Can anyone explain why the question on ethnicity had "White Welsh" as a separate race but lumped white English, Scottish and Irish together as another race?
Re: BFC Survey
It appeared to me to be a Burnley FC In The Community survey, and will more than likely be testing the waters to see how many Burnley fans fall outside the 'norm' of being White British, straight & Christian.ClaretTony wrote:I started it but then realised that it had nothing to do with me supporting Burnley FC and quickly deleted.
BFC In The Community would then possibly look at starting schemes aimed at those Burnley fans who stated they were gay, or muslim, or 70+, or transitioning to a different sex, or whatever.
Once in a while a thread appears on here asking 'What can we do to attract more muslims' or something. This could be one of the club's steps to doing just that.
Following the fallout last year after it was revealed that our star striker wished that gay people would burn and die because they made him sick, the club are also possibly trying to gauge how many of our own fans that that incident really offended. We all remember one of our fans getting called all kinds of names because he took offence. It's right the Club get on the front foot on it.
I'd say that if you wanted to win a slap up meal and watch the Clarets from the posh seats, then fill it in. That's what I've done.
It's probably a lot more important to fill it in if you fall under one of those minorities it's asking about. And you could also win a slap up meal and a game in the posh seats.

Re: BFC Survey
Rare to see that in a survey. In general The Welsh do the best job of displaying a separate and distinct ethnicity into the modern era, having your own language helps.Sausage wrote:Can anyone explain why the question on ethnicity had "White Welsh" as a separate race but lumped white English, Scottish and Irish together as another race?
Don't tell the Cornish though.

Although if I win the hospitality package they may get suspicious when I turn up and I'm not a black 80 year old pre-op transsexual Hindu from Ecuador.
