Re: nice article in the Mirror
That is a fine, accurate assessment of where we are now and how promising our future is.

I mean, it's all well and good to paint a rosy picture of could haves and maybes, but the facts are we ARE winless away from home, and that's that.

But at the end of the season all they do is add up how many points you got at home and away and, if your total is better than 3 other teams, they let you play in the Premier League again next season!ClaretAndJew wrote:I mean, it's all well and good to paint a rosy picture of could haves and maybes, but the facts are we ARE winless away from home, and that's that.

What do you mean, "that's that"? As the article says, we'll survive comfortably and regroup forClaretAndJew wrote:......but the facts are we ARE winless away from home, and that's that.
next season, so what's the problem?

And just imagine that feeling of satisfaction we get when we not only grab that first away win this season and, more than likely, also confirm our Prem survival with it. I'm looking forward to it.

Re: nice article in the Mirror
Read this article when it was linked on Twitter, thought it was a bit thin. I've re-read it to see if I missed anything, but no.
All it basically says is that the writer thinks we've played a bit better than results would suggest. No dazzling insights or anything, just an expanded version of the story you read on here with just as little to back it up.

It's a football article Enola. One that is accurate and positive towards us, for a change. It says enough.

The main match report was by Andy Dunn.
The was a secondary observation by David Maddock
Pretty reasonable imo.

Re: nice article in the Mirror
It was a point of view from a Burnley perspective - that's rare in itself, the rest of the news reporting comes from a Liverpool perspective and makes them the story. It's actually pretty accurate too - even more rare!

It's more insightful than your post !!Enola Gay wrote:Read this article when it was linked on Twitter, thought it was a bit thin. I've re-read it to see if I missed anything, but no.

Do you not think it's useful for a national paper to have a positive article on Burnley ?....especially when many non Burnley fans will undoubtedly assume that we are awful away from home.
I don't think anyone expects the Daily Mirror to come up with "dazzling insight". I'm just pleased with the compliments - makes a change from lazy journalism

Re: nice article in the Mirror
Swansea aside, our performances away from home have improved against some tough teams. I'd like us to take some confidence into the Sunderland game knowing that we've beat them comfortably this season and that we're more than capable of getting a win there. Hopefully we can get at them (because we can score goals) and avoid making silly mistakes.
Re: nice article in the Mirror
All too rare to see a positive article about Burnley, good to see

Re: nice article in the Mirror
First game in 7 months for me yesterday and to say the result was frustrating is a massive understatement.
However, it's not that long ago when playing at Anfield was a treat for us in itself. To go away sickened at not having got at least a point shows the lengths we have progressed.
If we play anywhere near that level at Sunderland we have an almighty chance of stuffing them.

Re: nice article in the Mirror
"Mirror's" what a lot of supporters think in quite a number of away games now and stating the obvious, also mirrors what are lot/all are thinking about the next away game, except of course the true pessimists (miserable people)
