With Sky TV and Match of the Day, plus God knows how many other media outlets banging on about our away record, it seems that some of our fans have fallen for the story. People losing their heads on social media because we haven't won away yet, or didn't beat Sunderland. I thought I'd add a bit of perspective to this so I hope people can calm down a little and find it useful, providing they understand football was not invented by Sky:
* 41 teams have gone an entire top division season without an away win.
* 27 different clubs have gone an entire season without a top flight away win.
* 20 of those 41 teams were relegated, but 21 teams were not.
* Since 1992 (the media line) 6 teams have gone an entire season without an away win. 4 of those clubs were relegated (Wolves, Norwich, Derby, Hull), 2 were not (Leeds, Coventry).
* 5 top flight seasons without an away win(not consecutive) - Stoke City.
* 4 top flight seasons without an away win(not consecutive) - Sheffield Wednesday.
* 2 top flight seasons without an away win(not consecutive) - Middlesbrough, Bury, Bolton Wanderers, Leeds United, Wolves, Norwich City, Derby County.
* 1 top flight season without an away win (selection from 18 clubs with 1): Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton, Chelsea.
* Worst top flight record - Leeds United with only 1 point from 21 away games in 1947.
So there you have it. We wouldn't be the first to go an entire season without an away win, nor would we be the first in the Premier League era. We wouldn't even be the worst in any era if we didn't pick up another point. More club's stay up than don't. A number of much larger clubs than ourselves have done it, and a number of clubs have done it several times.
We also have some away games left.....

In this league if you don't get an away win you tend to get relegated

If football was invented in 1992 then that's true on 4 out of 6 occasions. It's not true throughout history if you believe the idiots who think football began years before Sky.

I think it bothers you more than most, or else why would you go to such lengths to try and justify such a poor run.?
The facts are the facts.
3 teams get relegated each season, if we were one of them, would it be ok as 30 teams in the last 10 years also have?
Would it be ok because X, Y and Z team have also done it?
I can't speak for everyone else, but I don't give 2 sh1ts what other teams have or haven't done, I want Burnley to be the best they can and achieve the maximum possible.
At the minute we don't look like we know how to set up to win away. We've been in nearly every possible position away yet still fail to get those illusive 3 points due to being reactive not proactive.
I just hope we get it done and dusted this season, as we don't want it going into next season and having an effect on that season, as it will be just as hard if not harder than this.

Strange how we managed to get 14 points away from home two years ago, as I doubt SD would have used different tactics then compared to now.

All the media are saying is we haven't won away all season. Which we haven't. So what's the problem?

Honestly just trying to put a positive angle on it as I've been saying most of the season to people away from this board that staying up is all I care about. I don't care where the points come, although I'd prefer them at home as I see many more home games. People on Twitter and Facebook seem to be more concerned. Took 10 minutes to check and a few minutes to type out. Hopefully it's of use to some.

Staying up is number 1 objective.
We are IMO safe, It's next season that I am looking forward at, and don't want effecting us then too, it needs sorting now, and no better time than when the pressure is off. ( this season )
