Trains to Boro
Sorry if this has already been posted but I can't see it anywhere.
Northern Rail are planning a strike on Saturday 8th April.
They operate the trains that go from Preston / Accrington / Burnley to Leeds, York and the North East.
Just a heads up.

Re: Trains to Boro
Just looked at trains for that game and wondered why the website wasnt showing anything for that day!
Also looked at trains from Manchester Victoria to Liverpool Lime Street for our game v Everton the week after Middlesbrough. We went that way to Anfield for our game, but again no trains showing for 15th April.
I know you can go from Piccadilly but the Victoria route does the journey in 30 mins non stop.

Re: Trains to Boro
There will be enough pressure put on the rail bosses to avert this strike at any cost. It's Liverpool's showpiece day is the National.
It will be gridlock especially with taxi drivers coming out in support.

Re: Trains to Boro
Just bought a ticket from here via Manchester to Middlesborough. No warnings on the site. Fingers crossed.
Re: Trains to Boro
The Manchester to Middlesbrough route is run by Transpennine Express, not Northern Rail.
There's a train leaving Piccadilly at 11:57 which runs direct to Middlesbrough, getting in at 14:12.

Re: Trains to Boro
TPE also run the route from Leeds to Middlesbrough, it's the same train as the Manchester one.

It is Walton.Walton wrote:TPE also run the route from Leeds to Middlesbrough, it's the same train as the Manchester one.
It is the first part of the journey that would be the problem as that is run by Northern Rail
Re: Trains to Boro
Thanks, Walton, should have realised. Arriva for me to Manchester.
