Out of contract players 2017

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Sat Mar 25, 2017 1:47 am

There are some completely unrealistic players on this summers list. Zlatan and Yaya Toure just two of them.

But there are also some talented, very experienced players who could be a really good fit for us.

Some of them here.

Santi Carzola. Darren Fletcher. Charlie Adam. Lucas Leiva. Joe Ledley. Glen Johnson. John Terry. Michael Carrick. Martin Kelly.

For how we play and the sort of budget we have I think Fletcher and Ledley would be a superb addition. Carzola would be lovely but cant see that one.

Fletcher always impresses its obvious why he spent so long at Utd. Has the energy and physicality but is also a very good player.

We could do worse than getting his and Ledleys experince in on a free and i vesting money in keanes replacement should he go and more pace up top and out wide.

We should be looking at players like Fletcher, Adam and Ledley.

Kelly is also definitely worth looking at if Keane goes, as I think he's a CB.

Hes a right back Kelly but a big one. I was going to say in the stoke / wba mould. Come to think of it Im pretty sure Pulis signed him.

I'd say the chances of Fletcher are zero. He's probabaly been their best player this season plus I'm fairly sure he's not out of contract until 2018.

I think we looked at Ledley last summer but his wages were so far away from what we could pay it was a non starter.

Are wages still going to be an issue if we stay up this year. My main target would be Jermaine Defoe if Sunderland go down and yes I would give him a 12 month contract on 80 grand a week

I hope we're looking at players of a better quality than Ledley. Of the list of the OT I think Charlie Adam may BE a good shout provided he doesn't want to go to the MLS.

Cazorla is a dream signing but wages at any big or Southern prem club will be hard to compete with.

I just hope we are not scratching around on deadline day for players. This club can't afford to do that, new players need a Dyche pre season and bedding in time.

Charlie Adam very good on the ball and from dead balls. Had we not signed Brady i would love him for that alone. But strikes you as a player who doesnt look after himself as he should.

Carzola probably unrealistic but you never know. He will be 33.

Santi Cazorla should be in the same bracket as Zlatan and Toure - completely unrealistic

24/25 year old England CM replaced by 33/34 year old....

I'd rather we were building for the future - but, then I'd rather we were working out how to keep Michael Keane.

If I were Arsenal I'd be trying to keep him. They miss him whenever he is injured. I wonder what their record is with / without him

We need young players wanting to make their mark not old war horses settling for the easy life.
It's young players and those with a point to prove that have made us what we are we don't want to move away from that template.

Surely offering him a 5 year contract at 50K/week with a £40million buy out clause would be good business

Hi Rooster, I guess it might be if Michael Keane is ready to sign - and it helps to build the platform for Burnley in "top half" of the Prem.

Would the contract also include a relegation clause?

How much of any transfer fee will be payable to ManU?

Great problems to have, trying to hold on to our (current) England internationals.
